A new Era of Computing

As you may already know, the PIOS product line works with BeOS, MacOS, the AmigaOS-like pOS, and the UNIX-derived LinuxPPC. As those of our systems which base on the PIOS ONE architecture (namely the transAM and the Maxxtrem) are PPCP-compliant, they are also able to run Windows NT, AIX, and Solaris.

If you add all activities of the PowerPC community together, you can expect some hundred thousand users of this platform by the end of 1997. All of these users (and certainly the manufacturers) will have a huge demand for all kind of application software. We want to make it easier for you to develop for PowerPC-based computers such as our own. To achieve this, we offer our:


Developer Support Program

PIOS gladly welcomes everybody who wants to develop products for use with the computers shipped by PIOS. To create applications for PowerPC systems is a great challenge: you can utilize the functions and benefits of the latest state-of-the-art Operating Systems (and enjoy a new kind of freedom in your programming work), while it is extremely easy to write the applications. Even though it is easy to program, you will have your specific requirements for developer support. That's why we recommend you to register with us.

Besides getting newest and most detailed informations, you can also purchase computers directly from PIOS. Distribution will be handled directly through PIOS or through world wide distribution centers and existing or newly acquired dealer networks. The Developer Support Program includes:

  • funded, i.e. cheaper PIOS computer devices
  • trainings and seminars (future)
  • access to FTP servers and mailing lists (future)
  • documentation of hard- and software
  • marketing support
... and all other things which may help to make pOS- and BeOS-based PowerPCs the most user-attractive system in the world! Some of the support issues will be served by Be Inc. or proDAD Software, some will be covered by PIOS directly.

Registration

If you send us your application for support, we will give your information also to Be Incorporated and to proDAD Software, to make sure that you can use their Developer Support as well. We will inform you directly as soon as any news is emerging from there.

Registration is still free. Please note that email and Web access is considered a requirement, as these will be the main means of communication.

Procedure to send the form:

  1. load the form text into your email editor
  2. enter your data directly behind the equal signs or delete the non-applying lines
  3. cut the top and bottom as mentioned
  4. leave the rest of the form text unchanged
  5. send the form as email to support@pios.de.
