NYINGCHI

ííííNyinchi is situated just in the arms of the Himalaya, Nianqing Tangla and the Hengduan mount range. It is called í░Swiss in Tibetí▒ and í░southern area of the Yangtze River in Tibetí▒.

It means the seat of the sun in Tibetan. It connecting with Yunnan province and Chamdu in the east, Nagchu in the north, bordering Lhasa and Shangnan to the south west, India and Burma are to its south. It has the border line of over 1,000 thousand km. There are 7counties with the population of fourteen thousand and covers the area of 11.7 thousand square km.

It located in the lower reaches of the Yaluzangpo River with the elevation of 3,000 meters averagely, and the lowest part is just 900 meters. The temperature in the area is wet and warm, and beautiful views can be seen everywhere in the region. Bayi town is the political, economic and cultural center in this area.

The original forestry here is well preserved and you can see an ancient cypress, the Himalaya fir, hundreds of azaleas and varies plants. It is named í░the natural museumí▒ and í░the natural warehouse of the green gene í▒. It is sand that there appears an uncouth people frequently around the area of the Buchun lake.

Nyinchi is also the inhabit region of Mengbaness and lobaness, and the ethnic still remains strong unique traditional customs and religion. The historical ethnics are covered with the secrets of Legend sayings, simple and clan customs, believing totems. Nyinchi is also riches in the historical relics for it was the birthplace of the local religion, Bon and countless legend stories. It forms a rich and beautiful tour area with the combination of the natural scenic of Nagyabawa peak, the Yaluzangpo grand valley, Basong tso, the natural landscape in Dzayu, Pomi and varies humane scenic.

Nyinchi is famous with the grandest valley in the world and the highest drop in elevation, the wild plants and animal resources. Its original natural feature are well reserved and being one of the place that man seldom reaches into it.
