: I agree with Joe; don't blame the playgrounds; the problem is parental supervision. Stop blaming anyone and everyone for your inability to control your child. If you, as a parent, believe your child is in any unsafe environment, leave and do not let them play there. No one is forcing you to go to McDonald's or any restaurant with a playground. Stop trying to ruin the enjoyment for other children; those whose parents can provide control. It's unfortunate that your child was injured, but as far as I can see, you took her to the playground, you observed the conditions, and you permitted her to play. Thus, you bear the responsibility. Quit making someone else the scapegoat for your shortcomings. In reality based on your assumptions, there is not place of safety for your child; she will always be a victim of some circumstance. Did you realize that most children are injured at home?I agree with Joe too. A parent is responsilbe for their children, I am very deligent in my care of mine, however, in this case she was with another mother and two other kids for a slumber party. The two children who wildly flew down the "1 child at a time" slide, were not part of the group my daughter was with. How can I be expected to be responsible for the actions of someone else children (in this instance I wasn't even there!!. That is my point about wanting to insure that the safety measures are as safe as possible so tath no other family has to go through the nightmare that we have had to. I through this forum, we find taht overall the playgrounds are safe, great, however if there are too many children being hurt, then perhaps additional safety precautions need to be put in place. For your information, we are not pursuein legal action against McDonalds. My daughter has been through enough alredy without further subjecting her to trauma of attorneys, depositions and a trial. It is time for her to get on with things. I look for no one to blame this on or seek "restitution" from. My purpose it merly to help--If there is a problem. Tell me o' citizen of the world, how excatly am I taking the fun away form others or not being responsible???!!!
