I appreciate your concern for my eternal disposition. I also appreciate the graciousness with which you responded to my rather abrupt posting.

I read (a while ago) your previous posting and nearly replied at the time to your assertion that "socialism" is covetous toward the wealth accumulated by capitalists (I'm paraphrasing you, correct me if I mis-state your assertion). I think this is to miss the point of those who advocate fair distribution of the earth's bounty. While some may secretly (or openly) covet the accumulated wealth, most are truly and morally driven to fairness, equality, and satisfaction of human need, not human greed. If you prefer, you can call this the hand of God, or the Spirit of God, although many do not personify God as you do and refer to this moral drive in other terms.

Is it better to know and spout the words, or better to act in accordance with them?

The fruit indicates what kind of tree we have. The capitalism tree has produced hunger and want, starvation amid plenty, covetously inspired war, and a hunger for world domination. It has also done nothing but appeal to the worst in mankind and has cultivated a society concerned with immediate gratification. Perhaps if we cut the tree down, and plant one that bears good fruit, shared by all, people would be more open to spiritual enlightenment and community.
