Main Menu Help 1 of 1
This is the PRINTCON main menu. You can choose an
option or press <Escape> to exit PRINTCON.
PRINTCON is used to create special printer set-up
configurations that will be used when printing from your
account.
For example, you could specify a configuration that
prints a banner and only one copy of the report. If you
give a print command specifying that configuration, one
copy of your file with a banner is printed.
If you make that configuration the default, then when
you print a file without specifying a configuration, one
copy is printed with a banner.
Exit Help 1 of 1
If you want to exit PRINTCON, choose
Yes.
If you want to return to the main
menu, choose No or press <Escape>.
Save Data Help 1 of 1
You have changed the data in PRINTCON.
If you want to save the changes, choose Yes.
PRINTCON will save changes and exit.
If you don't want to save the changes, choose
No. PRINTCON will exit.
If you want to return to the main menu, press
<Escape>.
List Help 1 of 1
This list shows the printer configurations. If you
want to return to the main menu, press <Escape>.
To edit a configuration, highlight it and press
<Enter>.
To delete a configuration, hightlight it and press
<Delete>. To delete multiple configurations, mark
each with Mark (F5), then press <Delete>.
To add a configuration, press <Insert>.
To rename a configuration, highlight it and press
Modify (F3).
Default Help 1 of 1
This list lets you select which printer
configuration will be the default if a
print command is given from this account
and a printer configuration is not
specified.
Select the default configuration by
highlighting it and pressing <Enter>.
New Name Help 1 of 1
Enter the name of the print job configuration
that you want to create.
If you don't want to create a new configuration,
press <Escape>.
Enter a name that is unique (does not already
exist in your PRINTCON database).
If your PRINTCON database is empty, this
configuration becomes the default configuration.
Modify Name Help 1 of 1
You are about to change the name of an
existing configuration. If you don't want to
do this, press <Escape>.
The new name should be unique (it should not
already exist in your PRINTCON database).
Select Name Help 1 of 1
You are editing a print job configuration. Print job
configurations come from the file server whose name is
displayed at the top of the screen and apply only to
the displayed account and to print commands given from
that account.
The device and mode names come from the PRINTDEF
database on the file server displayed at the top of
the screen.
The queues and forms come from the target file server
specified in the File Server field.
Delete Name Help 1 of 1
If you want to delete the current
or marked configurations, choose
Yes.
If you don't want to delete the
specified configurations, choose No
or press <Escape>.
Specify the number of copies that should
be printed.
Exit Help 1 of 1
If you want to save the changes you made to
the current configuration and exit, choose
Yes.
If you want to discard the changes to the
current configuration and exit, choose No.
If you want to continue editing the field,
press <Escape>.
Byte Stream Help 1 of 1
This field determines how the file is printed.
If the field is set to Text, tabs are interpreted
and printed, long lines are wrapped, etc. Choose Text
for ASCII text files.
If the field is set to Byte Stream, the file is
assumed to contain all the necessary formatting (i.e.,
tabs, formfeeds, properly formatted lines, etc.) and
no special formatting is done by the print command.
If the File Contents field is set to Text,
tabs found in the file will be turned into the
number of spaces specified in this field.
Form Feeds Help 1 of 1
After a file is printed, should the form
feed be suppressed?
Yes = Do not issue a form feed.
No = Issue a form feed.
Banner Name Help 1 of 1
This field determines what name is printed in
the banner.
If the field is left empty, the name of the
user is used for the name in the banner.
Otherwise, whatever text is entered in this
field is printed in the banner name.
Should a banner be printed before the
actual file is printed?
Banner File Help 1 of 1
When a banner is printed, this field
determines what filename is printed in the
banner.
If this field is left blank, the name of the
file is printed in the banner.
If this field has text in it, that text is
printed in the banner.
Form Help 1 of 1
This menu lists the various types of forms
defined in the PRINTDEF database. You can
choose a form from the menu.
Highlight the appropriate form and press
<Enter>.
Device Help 1 of 1
This menu lists the various devices that
are defined in the file server's PRINTDEF
database.
To choose a device from this menu,
highlight it and press <Enter>.
Mode Help 1 of 1
This menu lists the various modes that are
defined in the file server's PRINTDEF
database. You can choose a mode from this
menu.
Highlight the mode and press <Enter>.

This is the target file server where the
print job should be sent.
This is the queue on the specified file
server where the print job should be sent.
The existing form name was illegal. It was
changed to a legal form name.
The existing device was illegal. It was
changed to a legal device.
The existing mode was illegal. It was changed
to a legal mode.
Device Is Invalid Help 1 of 1
The existing device does not exist now
(someone deleted it in PRINTDEF). You might
want to change it to a currently valid device
or ask the supervisor to replace the original
device.
No devices or modes exist for the primary
file server.
Server Is Unknown Help 1 of 1
This file server is down or no longer
exists. Try selecting a new file server if
you want to change forms or queues.
The form does not exist on the target
file server.
The computer changed your blank form name to
a valid form name.
The current mode no longer exists.
(Someone deleted it in PRINTDEF).
The mode was blank, so the computer changed
it to a valid mode.
No Forms Help 1 of 1
The target file server has no forms defined;
you can't change forms.
Either change the target file server to one
that has forms defined or define forms on the
file server with PRINTDEF.
Change to a file server with queues or add queues
to the current file server with PCONSOLE.
Queue Is Invalid Help 1 of 1
The currently specified queue does not exist
on the target file server. Change it to a
valid queue or add the queue to the file
server with PCONSOLE.
The queue was blank, so one was set for you.
The current target queue does not exist on
the target file server. It was changed to a
valid queue.
The file server has an old version of
NetWare that does not support PRINTCON
features.
Upgrade the NetWare version to solve the
problem.
Can't Attach Help 1 of 1
The file server you want to attach to is down
and your file server is not aware of it; the
file server doesn't have a GUEST account; or
the GUEST account has a password.
Which LPT (1, 2, or 3) should be used for
a capture command?
Should the shell wait until ENDCAP is run
before printing (auto endcap = NO), or should
it print whenever a program is exited (auto
endcap = YES)?
Specify how many seconds the shell should
wait before printing saved data if nothing
has been sent to the capturing LPT.
Enable Time Out Help 1 of 1
If you answer Yes, the shell automatically
prints captured data after timeout seconds
have passed. The capture is then restarted.
If you answer No, captured data is printed
based on what the Auto endcap field is set to. The ENDCAP command causes printing to occur if
Auto endcap is No.
Exiting a program causes printing if Auto
endcap is Yes.
The specified user does not have a mail
directory in which the PRINTCON data file
is stored.
The specified user does not have a
PRINTCON data file in his or her mail
directory.
Therefore, it cannot be copied.
Which user do you want to copy the print job

The source and destination PRINTCON files
are the same. There is no need to copy them.

The target user already has a print job
configuration file. Choose Yes to replace
that file or No to return to the main menu.
If the Notify When Done field is set to Yes,
you will be notified at your workstation when
the print job is finished.
You can copy the print job configuration
file only for the users that you manage. e.
The print server probably no longer exists.
Print Server Is Invalid
You are selecting which print server can
service your print jobs in the specified
print queue.
The selected print server is not authorized
to service jobs in the current print queue.
Add a new Job Definition Help 1 of 1
You have requested to add a new job
Definition. User SUPERVISOR may add both
public and private job Definitions. Public
job Definitions may be accessed by all users
on the network. Private job definitions may
only be accessed by the user that created it,
in this case supervisor.
If you want to add a PUBLIC job Definition,
choose YES.
If this job definition is private and will be
used only by you, choose NO.
If you want to return to the main menu, press
<Escape>.
Copy public job definition Help 1 of 1
You may copy a public job definition to your private area.
If you want to copy this job definition,
choose YES.
Otherwise, choose NO or press <Escape>.
Change default Job Definition Help 1 of 1
You have requested to change the default job defintion. User SUPERVISOR may change both your private default if any and the public system default job definition. The public default job definition is selected for all users on the network that do not specify a job definition and have no private default. A private default if present always takes precedence over a public default and applies only to the user that specifies it, in this case supervisor.
If you want to change the PUBLIC default job definition, choose YES.
If this is to be your private default job defintion, choose NO.
If you want to return to the main menu, press <Escape>.

(.txt)
