  34. Converting a binary file to a UUENCODED file (Encoding a file)

  36. To encode a file:

  38.  1. Press Ctrl-E or select "Encode..." from the "File" menu

  40.  2. Select the files to encode from the file dialog

  42.  3. Select "OK" when finished selection 
  43.  
  44. The program should encode the files at this time.

  46. Converting a UUENCODED file to a binary file (Decoding a file) 
  47.  
  48. To decode a file:

  50.  1. Press Ctrl-D or select "Decode..." from the "File" menu

  52.  2. Select the file to decode from the file dialog

  54.     Note:  The selected files must be in UUENCODED form 
  55.  
  56.  3. Select "OK" when finished selection

  73. PMUUE stands for "Presentation Manager Unix-to-Unix Encoder/decoder. " 
  74.  
  75. Basically, this program can convert a binary file into UUENCODED format or 
  76. convert a file from UUENCODED format back into a binary file. 
  77.  
  78. A UUENCODED file is a file in a special coded format such that all the data in 
  79. that file is a printable character.  This format is used to transport files 
  80. through text-based media such as an Internet newsgroup.
