  9.         In, June, I had the pleasure of experiencing a night at Carnegie
  10. Hall. This was for the presentation of the Media Master Sound Standard.

  12.         Since that time I have received the OmniLabs AudioMaster Sound
  13. Card. This is the first sound card to be made using the Media Master
  14. standard. Hearing it on my system impressed me all over.
  15.  
  16.         AudioMaster comes with a microphone, Joystick/MIDI Port, cables,
  17. and software for both DOS and Windows (with OS/2 software available soon
  18. for free, to registered users). You can purchase several add-on boards to
  19. add to the card, while still only using one slot. The card has 384K of
  20. memory, which can be increased to over a megabyte with an add-on board; an
  21. FM Synthesizer card (for AdLib support); CD-ROM interface card for several
  22. different drives; MIDI breakout box; Amplified Speakers.

  25.         AudioMaster support Monologue in Windows, and plays .MID files
  26. using a JukeBox and .WAV files. In addition there is a Digital Mixer,
  27. Digital Audio Recorder, and audio CD-ROM player for Windows.

  33.         Music Tutor Series - Learn basics of music and sight reading.

  35.         Sequencer Plus Jr. - Professional Sequencer

  38. Autodesk Animator, Harvard Graphics and other presentation/animation
  39. programs.

  41.         CD-Music Player - Play audio CDs in the background in DOS.

  43.         JukeBox - Play selections that come with it, or create your own.

  46.         If you are looking for a sound card that is compatible with
  47. SoundBlaster, this is not it. I was talking to the technical support
  48. people, who tell me that many companies are committing to creating drivers
  49. for this new sound standard. The sounds will be raised another level, as
  50. this card surpasses current sound cards on the market that I have seen and
  51. heard. For use with Windows, I think it has the best sound. For musicians,
  52. this is the best on the market. You can use many sound effects and musical
  53. instruments.

  55.         Installation is very easy and painless. Just insert the card and
  56. run install from the floppy. In most cases you would not need to change any
  57. settings on the card, although even changing DMA, IRQ and so on, are very
  58. simple and well documented.
