  12. Looks like I wasn't detailed enough the first time... Yes, I'm on 1.99o, 
  13. for both DOS and Linux, and using UNIVBE for DOS (I also tried without).  
  14. Before I start Marathon (The 4L demo or something -- I just downloaded it 
  15. from ftp.bungie.com), the prefs panel says 256 colors, and I've even 
  16. tried starting executor with "-bpp 8", but Marathon still changes to 
  17. 1bpp.  It's my assumtion that this is a Screen Mode Detection routine 
  18. gone amuck or some such... My graphics card is the ATI mach64 card (PCI), 
  19. any ideas?
