- Hi Folks,
-
- Happy Holidays.
-
- I'm basically recovered from that flu like trouble that was holding me back,
- but unfortunately I am going to be out of town for a week, so my e-mail will
- remain a bit behind. "questions@ardi.com" is much preferable to
- "ctm@ardi.com" for such reasons.
-
- Anyway, before leaving I've put a couple new files out on ftp.cs.unm.edu:
-
- /pub/ardi/Executor_DOS/exct19f.zip
- /pub/ardi/Executor_Linux/executor.gz
-
- The former is a total replacement for our old Executor/DOS experimental demo.
- The latter is a single executable that you will need to copy over your
- /usr/local/bin/executor binary if you already have Executor/Linux 1.99e
- installed and you want to run 1.99f.
-
- I'm not able to get a NEXTSTEP or DOS-Commercial version of 1.99f out the door
- before I leave, but barring further illness, things should get much smoother
- after the holidays.
-
- BTW, with some fiddling with "-refresh" and "-applzone", we are able to run
-
- Maelstrom
- Wolfenstein 3D (but you can't shoot under E/DOS)
- NIH Image 1.55
- Mac Attack
- Tetris Max
- Expert Backgammon
- "Fatty Bear Demo"
- the beginning of "Out of this World Demo"
- Seahaven Towers
-
- and a bunch of other publicly redistributable color applications. In January
- we hope to get ftp.ardi.com set up so that people can pick up binaries that
- are known to work with Executor. NOTE: we haven't permanently shifted our
- emphasis to games; we just wanted to find and fix a certain class of color
- bugs. When I get back we'll be attacking Photoshop, Nisus, Filemaker Pro,
- Quark and other "big ticket" applications.
-
- Hope everyone's holidays were happy.
