  1. Hi Folks,

  3. As you know, there hasn't been a new experimental version of  
  4. Executor/DOS or Executor/NEXTSTEP in a few weeks.  Part of the reason  
  5. for that is due to the fact that we've found a few filesystem and  
  6. memory manager bugs/conflicts and we want to get all the ones that we  
  7. know of fixed before we release a new version.  However, that  
  8. shouldn't have taken us this long.

  10. What else has happened is we've had two separate disk drives fail,  
  11. and we've had a bunch of new equipment arrive, and I'm the person  
  12. that sets up new equipment.  If that weren't enough, I was feeling a  
  13. little feverish and generically uncomfortable for a couple days, when  
  14. Sunday morning I wound up passing a kidney stone.  This was not a fun  
  15. experience, and I've been mostly bed-ridden for most of the week up  
  16. until now.  As far as I know, I'm better, but I haven't yet had my  
  17. follow-up appointment, so I don't know what to expect.

  19. However, ARDI is not a one man show, and work has been proceeding  
  20. nicely on color, on our Finder replacement and on the Executor  
  21. brochures and press-kits.  Unfortunately, we had to let our manual  
  22. editor go, so that is being held up for a little while now.

  24. I can't guarantee when Executor/DOS 1.2d will get out, but I'm up to  
  25. working full-time days again and should soon be back to my normal  
  26. beyond-full-time days.  As soon as 1.2d is out, we'll start hiring  
  27. testers to pound on this stuff around the clock, on a variety of  
  28. machines under a variety of operating systems.  2.0 still won't be  
  29. ready for beta (we have to merge in the color stuff and finish a few  
  30. more features like sound and serial port), but we are making steady  
  31. progress, and our luck is bound to get better.

  33. BTW, it's always good to use "questions@ardi.com" instead of mailing  
  34. directly to me, because when I'm unavailable, my personal e-mail  
  35. backs up something fierce, but questions@ardi.com is always kept at a  
  36. managable level by Vaune.
