Good question. Go ahead and get 1.2 for now. They are still working on
2.0 and it won't be out for a while.

Subject: New Experimental versions of Executor out there
Sender: Executor-Owner@NACM.COM

Hi Folks,
ftp.cs.unm.edu contains
pub/ardi/Executor_DOS/exexp12c.zip
and
pub/ardi/Executor_NEXTSTEP/Executor_130e.tar
In addition to a variety of bugfixes, these versions of Executor have
had a bunch of the inner memory management code revamped so that when
you quit an application you go right back into the "pick an
executable" dialogue box. People have been asking for this feature
for years, and we're finally there. There's still a chance that some
little bugs will create situations where if you run program X, it
runs fine, but if you run program W and then program X, X has
trouble. Please let us know if you find such a problem.
This new feature will be used to put a tiny browser in Executor so
that you'll be able to manipulate files or launch apps like you can
do with Apple's Finder (although ours won't be quite so nice).
Color is "limping" "in the lab". We're still at least three weeks
away from making color available to test people, but I hope to have
the other 2.0 features added by then as well. I'm hoping that within
a week I'll have serial port support and a few more goodies, and if
you experiment, you'll probably notice that more apps are running
better than ever before.

Cliff....glad to hear that things are coming along.
Well...we got the MAC here at the house. I will try and copy a few programs
off of it and see if I can get them to turn.
Bye for now.

Subject: Executor/DOS 1.2c wedges when running out of exsystem.hfv

Hi Folks,
If you try to run one of the utilities that is in the "exsystem.hfv"
(System) drive, you will see Executor hang. On the other hand, if
you run a program from somewhere else first, then quit and go back to
System and try again, it will work.
I didn't notice this bug when I released 1.2c, but it's noted now,
and although annoying, you can work around it as described above.

Subject: List of programs that run under Executor 1.2?
To: executor@nacm.com

Hello all,
Does anyone out there have a compiled list of programs that
do/do not work under Executor 1.2? If not perhaps we could
pool together information and form some list for distribution?
I'm sure such a list would be helpful to other users and even
for Ardi since they could improve on compatibility in future
versions of Executor.
Thanks,
George
