  7.      I think the idea of including EGA/VGA programs in future issues of BBD 
  8.      is a fabulous idea!  It's frustrating when you have spent the extra 
  9.      money to get an EGA adapter and monitor when so many of the programs 
  10.      that you buy take the "safe" route and only offer text/CGA support.  I 
  11.      also like the idea of creating a new menu system to take advantage of 
  12.      the EGA/VGA as well.  I do have a couple of suggestions for your new 
  13.      menu system. 
  14.  
  15.      1) Add mouse support.
  16.  
  17.      2) Create a database program for Big Blue Disk and then add an option 
  18.         on your menu which will add the current month's program list to the 
  19.         database.  Now that Big Blue Disk is 52 issues old it's hard to 
  20.         keep track of all the great programs that are in our libraries.  
  21.         Perhaps this could be a group effort with your other "Magazine on 
  22.         Disk" publications so that one program will work for all of them.

  24.      3) Design the monochrome version of the menu to work with SIMCGA 
  25.         installed.  While I have a color monitor a friend of mine runs the 
  26.         CGA programs in BBD by using a public domain version of SIMCGA. 
  27.         When he installs SIMCGA to run a CGA program from your menu, the 
  28.         menu becomes unusable (you can't see the cursor) and he just takes 
  29.         a "shot in the dark" when selecting the program that he wants to 
  30.         run.

  43.      ^1Yes, we do plan to add mouse support.  George Leritte is making 
  44.      ^1changes to the Big Blue Disk presenter as I type, and mouse support is 
  45.      ^1definitely part of the plan.

  47.      ^1BBD Back Issue Database:
  48.      ^1We hope you liked Big Blue Disk Issue #53 with the BBD Indexer 
  49.      ^1program.  Now you can have all of BBD's back issue information at your 
  50.      ^1fingertips.  Currently, our plan is to publish a BBD database file 
  51.      ^1every six months containing the index information for the previous six 
  52.      ^1issues.  Then you can use the MERGE option on BBD Indexer to add the 
  53.      ^1past six issues to your database.

  55.      ^1We didn't know if folks would want to update BBD Indexer every single 
  56.      ^1month, but perhaps we will consider your idea of making this update 
  57.      ^1process an automated feature on the Main Menu. Stay tuned.

  59.      ^1Monochrome Misery: 
  60.      ^1Tell your friend to try using the command "GO M" instead of "GO" when 
  61.      ^1running a Big Blue Disk issue.  When he uses the SIMCGA program this 
  62.      ^1makes it possible for our graphics to be seen.  However, our software 
  63.      ^1thinks that his computer also has the ability to display color.  The 
  64.      ^1"GO M" command overrides this and tells our software that only 
  65.      ^1MONOCHROME is possible.

  76.      So far I enjoy SOME of the Big Blue Disk programs but NOT ALL. That is 
  77.      a shame because you might be able help me enjoy ALL of them to their 
  78.      fullest.

  80.      You see we have an IBM compatible AT Jet (80286) computer with a 
  81.      Hercules Graphics card and monochrome monitor.  We cannot enjoy, or 
  82.      even access many of your programs because they come up with that 
  83.      famous and, I might say, "irritating," slogan, "CGA REQUIRED." 
  84.  
  85.      I would enjoy many of the Printshop items because I have a copy of the 
  86.      old Printshop.  I don't know how to access the graphics.

  88.      I would enjoy many of the games that display that CGA REQUIRED slogan 
  89.      but .........

  91.      Oh, well, such is life.  Do you think you might get a few more 
  92.      programs that do not require CGA?  I certainly hope so.  I happen to 
  93.      be an old stick-in-the-mud type who has a very restricted budget. That 
  94.      means if I can't use the Big Blue Disk programs I must cancel out and 
  95.      fail to renew.  Sorry.

  111.      ^1However, you must have a true Hercules Graphics card.  If you have a 
  112.      ^1cloned Hercules card (a "Herculone"), then there is only a 50-50
