--Selecting BBD Programs--
I have been with you since BBD #19, and, along the way, have lost quite
a few. What I would like to know is -- would I, instead of getting the
whole disk, be able to get programs that I had liked? Or ones that I have
not seen that sound good?
If you cannot do this, how about disks with just games, "Alfredos",
Print Shop (R) graphics, etc.?
^RBen Lewis
^RHampstead, NC
^1> I wish it were feasible for us to offer individual Big Blue Disk
^1>programs, but the logistics don't seem to work for us. As far as
^1>collections are concerned, we may be able to offer something like that
^1>through our software sales. The marketing folks will have to work on
^1>it for us.

--Registering BBD Programs--
I have a question concerning "Enhanced Family Tree." I have worked a
little bit with this program and would like to find out how to become a
registered user of this program.
Any information you might be able to forward will be appreciated.

^1> Big Blue Disk programs have a unique position in the software market.
^1>They are not shareware, therefore it is not necessary to register and pay
^1>for the programs. They are commercial software, but we do not register
^1>users for newsletters, regular upgrades, etc. If the programs are
^1>upgraded, they will be published on Big Blue Disk as the new, upgraded
^1>version. If you need technical support for this, or any program we
^1>publish, it is already available by letter or phone.

--Registering BBD Programs--
Perhaps I missed just how to pay for the programs which you have
listed. DOS S.O.S., Phone, DIRTREE, etc. As you see from the report
cards these have been of the most help to me.

^1> As we noted above, Big Blue Disk is not a shareware publication. The
^1>purchase price of the publication (newsstand or subscription) is the full
^1>cost of the software included. If someone gave you a copy, we would
^1>appreciate your ordering the issues you enjoyed from our Back Issue
^1>Catalog.
^1>Just call Softdisk Publishing at our toll-free number 1-800-831-2694.

--BBD Authors--
One of your programs in 1989 was DATEBOOK. I have enjoyed using this
and wonder if there is an updated version and how I might get in touch with
the authors. I would appreciate your assistance.
^RMrs. Jean K. Hooks

^1> I am really glad you have enjoyed DATEBOOK, since it was written by our
^1>own Bob Napp and Richard Wong. In all cases, we recommend writing to the
^1>authors of our programs "Care of Big Blue Disk." If the program was one
^1>of the many submitted by the outside programming world, we will be glad
^1>to forward your communication to its author. In this case, the authors
^1>will certainly get the letter. DATEBOOK II will be published in Big Blue
^1>Disk in the very near future.

--Military Insignia--
It is noticed that on Issue 47, Disk 2, the words under Print Shop (R)
images shows "Military Insignia." This appears to be a misnomer as the word
-military- is not confined to the U.S. Army, but the insignia shown is.
I am a retired Navy man and currently in charge of a Navy patrol
squadron reunion coming up in January 1991. As I am in the process of
creating posters and banners I would appreciate information on the
possibility of Navy graphics appearing in the near future.
^RFrank W. Humphries
^RSan Diego, CA
^1> Well, you are absolutely correct. The "clip-art" originally slated to
^1>appear in BBD #47 included insignia from other branches of the military
^1>services. You may have noticed that the disks for that issue had very
^1>little blank space. Due to space restrictions, we postponed all but the
^1>Army insignia. We work several months in advance, so I'm afraid they will
^1>not appear in time for your purpose. Estimated publication date is late
^1>December 1990 for the next group.

--September 31?????--
RE: Marketplace on Big Blue Disk #47. When is September 31, 1990?
^RB. R. Schilling
^RUtica, MI
^1> Got me! Looks like I would have checked my calendar, or just my memory
^1>to remember that September has only 30 days. You have good eyes, my
^1>friend.

--Graphics Adapter--
I just received my newest Big Blue Disk No. 47. I enjoy receiving the
disk and playing with my computer. I noticed a number of programs say:
graphics adapter required. Do you handle it?
I appreciate your help on this as the programs requiring one seem to be
the ones I am most interested in. I just use the Big Blue Disk for the fun
stuff.....Thanks for that.

^1> Graphics adapters are computer hardware that work with the computer's
^1>display screen. The two must work together, so there are limiting factors
^1>to what may be purchased. VERY basically speaking, there are text (usually
^1>monochrome) and graphics (CGA, EGA, VGA, etc.) modes. The adapter and
^1>screen together determine whether you can display graphics screens; more
^1>and more of the games use graphics. Visit your local computer store to
^1>purchase hardware.
