DESIRED LICENSE APPROACH
We fully realize that there are many Menu programs out in the world
but we also BELIEVE that MASTER MENU is the simplest and most
straightforward for the personal computer user (especially small
businesses) who have absolutely no knowledge of DOS or the basic
functions which they will use in a day to day operation. This
typically consists of changing directories and keying start up
commands as required by each piece of application software.
MASTER MENU is not TSR, contains NO unnecessary features which tend to
complicate use for the computer illiterate. It simply allows a user
to automatically access his or her software which of course is the
primary purpose of having a computer system. Once a user finishes
use of their software and exits it, control returns back to MASTER MENU
ready for other work by the user.
MASTER MENU is written and supported by heavily experienced Computer
professionals who come from the large scale business Data Processing
environment and now service small businesses. MASTER MENU is written
in Microsoft 3.0A COBOL and supported at a Microsoft approved BETA
site.
Therefore, we would like to make MASTER MENU available nationally on
the following basis:
1. FREE to all Sysops, Software Developers and other categories of
persons who do NOT operate a business or use PC's to support a
business. In other words, if you use it - great, feel free. If
you make money from it, then share it with us (SEE BELOW).
2. We encourage the above listed who sell hardware and application
software to small business or functional users to offer MASTER
MENU as a basic feature of their user's system and set it up in
the user's AUTOEXEC.BAT for them. We currently have many
customers who do not know the first thing about DOS commands
because once their application software has been initially installed
MASTER MENU is used to provide them that routine access without
concerning themselves with DOS.
Charge your user a reasonable license fee for MASTER MENU (suggested
$49.00) and remit 50% to METRO Associates on an honor basis for
registration. We have found that a fee in this range is more than
justified since the user's operation is greatly simplified and keying
time is saved on every activity. Furthermore, the usual Start-up
BAT's files which often accompany application software can be eliminated
since we have not found one which cannot be simulated by MASTER MENU.
