God's Plan for Man
------------------
Ever since Adam and Eve first disobeyed God in the garden, the Bible tells
us that mankind has been born with a sinful nature. In other words, we
naturally sin against God. God's Word tells us that not one person has ever
been born that has not, at some time, disobeyed God's Law. Look at this
verse of scripture:
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: ROM 3:10
God knew that because of this sinful nature, none of His creation would be
able to fellowship with Him, so He sent Jesus Christ, His very own son, to
be an example of God's righteousness or His model for us. Jesus Christ is,
therefore, "the glory of God".
The Bible goes on to tell us that none of us measure up to God's standard in
Jesus Christ - we all come short.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; ROM 3:23
Because of God's love for man, He did not stop with providing us a standard
or an example that He knew we could not measure up to. Through Jesus, God
provided The Way to meet God's criteria or standards.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were
yet sinners, Christ died for us. ROM 5:8
God, through His Love, has provided a free gift for us. Since none of us can
ever be good enough to meet God's requirements because of our sinful nature
(which is really the opposite of God's nature and at war with His ways -
Romans 8:7). He has allowed Jesus Christ to die on the cross in our place as
a sacrifice for our sins. Yes, Jesus was our substitute.
Our natural ways will lead to death and separation from God, but if we
accept the free gift that God so graciously provided, we can be saved
through the death of Jesus.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ROM 6:23
Now, you would probably wonder how to receive such a wonderful gift as
eternal life that God has offered through Jesus Christ. God does not offer
such a gift without telling us how to receive it. His Word tells us in
Romans, chapter 10.....
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved. ROM 10:9
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with
the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ROM 10:10
You might wonder if God accepts everyone, regardless of the type of sins
they have committed. He tells us in His Word that He accepts all who are
willing to turn from their life of sin and place their trust in Jesus Christ
to save them. This is called repentance. It simply means to turn from
whatever has a hold on you and accept the abundant life that Jesus so freely
provided through His substitutionary death on the cross.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved. ROM 10:13
Yes, God will save all who call upon Him. If you have not come to the place
in your life of personally receiving Jesus Christ into your heart and
allowing Him to become your Lord and Saviour, won't you do so right now?
