- photo, and focused on getting an interview. The response seemed slow
- and I tried to speed things up and make myself seen in the crowd by
- persistence in making contact with the key person, even offering to
- take her to lunch so we could visit. However, my application was
- shelved.

- new business brokerage firm. It was an open door, and I went through
- it, which led to my publishing InfoNet News, which led to my hiring
- Jack Brennan to help me write a business plan, which led to my working
- with him on his start-up company, Professional Referral System
- Corporation.

- A business brokerage deal that had come to an impasse in January,
- with a difference of about $600,000 between buyer and seller, warmed
- up again with a new offer and it closed in June, giving me a $25,000
- commission.

- Wonderful! Now, what do I do with all this money? I sweated and
- fretted over that question, happy about the commission but unhappy
- about not being able to stretch it any further. My worst fear was
- that it would slip through my fingers and I would have nothing to show
- for it.
