  32. The Return of "The Rebel"

  36. Phrack Inc. reported a while ago that The Rebel was busted in the "sweeps"
  37. along with:

  45. The Rebel was not actually busted but did receive several threatening phone
  46. calls from either federal authorities or Bell Security. After receiving all of
  47. these threatening phone calls, Rebel took his all of his computer equipment
  48. and hid it in his uncle's basement. He later received a visit from the special
  49. fraud squad. It seems tht they received a letter that detailed many of Rebel's
  50. activities dealing with phreaking/hacking/anarchy/etc.

  52. The Rebel let them look through his house and they naturally found no computer
  53. equipment. Since they had no equipment, they had no case and no charges were
  54. brought against him.

  114. The Story on Mafia Dude:

  117. Last October Mafia Dude was arrested; the cop who arrested him asked about:

  119.     - his junction box activities
  120.     - phreaking
  121.     - if he ever "cracked" passwords for mainframes
  122.  
  123.  The charges were dropped but now he has run into more trouble.

  126. Recently Mafia Dude was arrested (as well as Cablecast 0perator). It seems
  127. that Mafia Dude had a stolen IBM PC compatible. More complications have
  128. arisen because his parents found his notes on phreaking/hacking.

  130. Someone said that Mafia Dude was going to sell his stolen IBM PC compatible
  131. and his school administrator (named Mr. Thompson) found out about it. The
  132. school administrator decided to get the cops involved and Mafia Dude was
  133. arrested. His bulletin board, Bellcore Systems, is currently down.

  136. on.

  163. A local to Mafia Dude who was busted by MCI gave out some startling news. He
  164. said that AT&T and MCI would be working together in some agreement. This
  165. contract between AT&T and MCI would help them to identify certain phreaks.
  166. While this is a scary idea, it is very unlikely.

  180. The Appler recently discovered an interesting trick for Allnet. Here's
  181. how it's done:

  186.         Enter a valid and working code

  188.         Dial a Metromedia mailbox

  190.         While the message is playing, hit #
  191.  
  192.         # will give you a fast busy signal

  194.         As the busy signal ends you will hear a few clicks

  197. Every few times you get a dialtone. This is Allnet's dialtone. To reach
  198. Alliance you have to dial out of AT&T. The trick seems to work best after
  199. 11 p.m. Later it was found out that it works for almost any number that hangs
  200. up. It will work for carriers and such. It is unknown how long this little
  201. trick will last. .... just something interesting.

  208. Around 4 months ago I wrote a series of files dealing with nfo.
  209. These files (known as the PCP files; PCP=Pirate Communicatons Productions)
  210. will be availiable. It is unknown which ones will be in Phrack but here is a
  211. small list of what the files are:

  214.     - the longest list of payphone numbers ever assembled
  215.  
  216.     - a guide to diverters (very descriptive, full instructions, etc.)
  217.  
  218.     - a "Boxing Dictionary" giving descriptions of all boxes (basic)

  220.     - the lists*

  223. *: The "lists" are a Data Directory. This is a listing of different computers
  224. and I'm sure will have some significance just by the size of it. It took
  225. me several hours to compile. They are as follows:

  230.      Data Directory #3: Carriers

  233. These are probably some of the greatest g-files that I will every write. Most
  234. of the material in the Data Directories came directly from my notebooks. I put
  235. them together in the spirit of older files such as "Harry Hackalot's" and
  236. of course "13th Floor Enterprises" (Am I the only person who still remembers
  237. these?)

  239. Although they did come from my notebooks (files/folders/folios/etc.),
  240. I decided not to include the passwords*logins for the systems that I have
  241. hacked out. This is not because I am selfish but because they wouldn't last
  242. if I did such a thing.

  244. Data Directory #3 contains the LONGEST list of carriers ever written.

  246. I'm sure that these files will delight all hackers (an anger several computer
  247. security officials).

  257. his BBS is down due to his bust. Don't call it.

  261. Southland Systems (a commom carrier at 1-800-248-6284) has blocked out Scan
  262. Man's bulletin board, Pirate-80, from receiving calls. When a VALID code is
  263. entered to place a call to P-80, the call does not go through. This most
  264. likely came about because most of the calls to P-80 are made illegally.
