- Here's a few things you may find useful whilst playing
- ULTIMA VI: The False Prophet.
-
- How To Strike It Rich:
- Make your way into the library in the Lycaeum. Search
- around until you find the Lost Book of Mantras. This book
- may not seem valuable to you, but it will be, as you will
- realize in a moment.
- Once you find this book, use the Orb of the Moons to
- zap yourself to Skara Brae (two spaces southwest). Work your
- way north to the forest, and locate the Wisps. Upon talking
- to them, you will learn of their ability to contact other
- planes, thus providing an exchange of information between
- the planes.
- Here you should offer to the Wisps the Book of Mantras,
- by laying it down before them, and speaking to them again.
- They will find someone willing to make an exchange for the
- Book. The person they find will offer you a choice of either
- some piece of valuable information, or some commodity of
- value to you.
- Turn down the valuable information, and they will
- instantly deliver into your packs as many gold nuggets
- (which you can get Terri to change into money at the mint in
- Britain) as you have the strength to carry.
- At this point, you can stash your gold somewhere, and
- go through the process again, for the guy who you made the
- trade with has (stupidly) forgotten the whole incident.
- Keep doing this until you have as much gold as you
- wish.
- Just for the record, if you accept the information, it
- is just some super-scientific mumbo-jumbo that may be
- valuable to somebody sophisticated enough to put it to use,
- but it definitely has no benefit for the playing of the
- game.

- Getting Around:
- These are a couple of "cheat" features that I
- discovered.
- If you hold down the ALT key and enter from the Numeric
- keypad 213 and then release the ALT key, the viewscreen will
- function as if you are viewing a gem, without cost to either
- your gem supply or brownie points.
- On the scroll will appear at the same time a HEX string
- of thirteen characters. The last six characters are the
- computer's reference to your location in Britannia. I don't
- have a clue what the other numbers in the string mean.
- *** If you are in a place you ever might like to return to,
- write down these digits, for I am about to tell you how to
- get back there. ***
- By pressing ALT-214, some strange Gargoyle-runes will
- appear on the scroll. They are asking you for co-ordinates.
- There will be three prompts. The first one requires two
- digits. Enter the first two from the six-digit string you

- wrote down. The second prompt requires three, so enter the
- next three. The last needs but one, so enter the last digit
- in this string. After a moment's pause, you will find
- yourself at the spot that you obtained the string from.
- If this all seems strange, just experiment with it
- until you do understand it. I mean, that's how I discovered
- the "cheat" in the first place.
