  21.   This is a short text file I put together for the purpose of quick access
  22.   to codes, addon levels, and LMP demos.  There are some other premium
  23.   text files and helpful things to make your DOOMing experience more 
  24.   exciting which are listed below!

  37.                                 Game Palace bbs

  39.   Game Palace started on 04/07/94 as a small bbs for users to obtain the
  40.   latest patches and upgrades available for PC Games.  I personally got
  41.   tired of calling long distance to get the latest patch or upgrade and
  42.   figured a bbs would help.  I have never ran a bbs prior to this and I
  43.   just got my first modem in December of 1993.  (Yes, I'm a newbie!) <g>
  44.  
  45.   As a DOOM addict, I figured why not cater to this awesome game.  There
  46.   were alot files out and more coming!  I started by adding one file area
  47.   for DOOM on the board, but that wasn't enough.  I now have 30 file areas
  48.   devoted to DOOM and DOOM II.
  49.   We gained users from all over the U.S., Canada, Japan, Europe, England, etc.
  50.   In 2 months!  The demand for DOOM had increased so much, I had to delete
  51.   alot of other files to make room on my hard drive.
  52.   Unfortunately, I only have one computer so I don't get to play as much
  53.   as I would like to.

  55.   Right now as of this writing, we have over 1,300 WADS and 260+ megs of DOOM
  56.   files online.  Since we get so many new DOOM files daily, I created a
  57.   "DOOMlist" which contains all the DOOM files on Game Palace bbs.  This
  58.   is updated nightly!  It is called "DOOMLIST.ZIP"
  59.   
  60.   There is also 9 different conferences devoted to DOOM!  Use them for help,
  61.   reviewing levels, editing levels, modem connections, coolest frags,
  62.   DOOM stories, DOOM II stuff, etc., etc.!

  104.   There are certain keys you can use to gain access to some wonderful 
  105.   things in DOOM.  Type these while playing the game.  Here they are:

  107.   IDDQD                        Degreelessness mode (Invincible)
  108.   IDKFA                        Very Happy Ammo (Full stock of weapons &
  109.                                                 ammo)
  110.   IDBEHOLD   (follow it by S, V, I, R, A, L)
  111.        S----Strength (Beserk mode)
  112.        V----Invunerability
  113.        I----Partial Invicibility
  114.        R----Radiation Suit
  115.        A----Auto Map
  116.        L----Light Amplifiers

  128.                                 Command Lines

  130.  There are command lines within DOOM that can be used when intially 
  131.  running the game.  For more information on exactly what all of 
  132.  these lines mean, pick up "The 'Official' DOOM FAQ" by Hank Leukart.

  134.  At the DOOM directory type:   "DOOM -devparm <parameter>
  135.  These can be several followed by eachother for various effects such
  136.  as warping, recording a demo, respawning monsters, or taking .PCX
  137.  screenshots.

  139.  -config <filename>          Reads alternate configuration file
  140.  -deathmatch                 Starts NetDoom in Deathmatch mode
  141.  -debugfile <parameter>      Dumps debugging into debug<parm>.txt
  142.  -devparm                    Developers mode
  143.  -episode <episode>          Starts on Episode 1,2, or 3
  144.  -file <name.wad>            Allows usage of PWAD
  145.  -left                       Sets up a network terminal for the "left view"
  146.  -loadgame <game number>     Starts from save game # 0-5
  147.  -net <players>              Starts NetDoom with 1-4 players     
  148.  -noblit                     Speeds up game on some systems
  149.  -nodraw                     Speeds up game on some systems
  150.  -nojoy                      Does not use joystick
  151.  -nomonsters                 Starts games without monsters
  152.  -nomouse                    Does not use mouse
  153.  -nomusic                    No background music
  154.  -nosfx                      No sound effects
  155.  -nosound                    No sound at all
  156.  -playdemo <name w/o .lmp>   Playback a recorded demo
  157.  -record <name w/o .lmp>     Record a demo til you die or finish
  158.  -recordfrom <0-5><demo name>Records from a saved game 
  159.  -respawn                    Cause enemies to respawn in Non-Nightmare game
  160.  -right                      Sets up NetDoom terminal for "right view"
  161.  -skill <skill level>        Starts on skill level 1-5

  163.  -wart <episode> <level>     Adds an external PWAD file to filelist

  166.                           PWADS (Addon external levels)
  167.  
  168.  PWADS are external levels made by people with level editors.  These
  169.  PWADS ("Patch" WADS) are inserted with the command line "-file" and
  170.  allow you to play a new level!  For complete information on PWADS,
  171.  check out "The 'official' DOOM FAQ" by Hank Leukart or "DOOMWAD"
  172.  by Steve Huskisson.  "DOOMWAD" is available at Game Palace BBS.

  176.  To run a PWAD file, make sure the new level is in your DOOM directory 
  177.  and from there type:
  178.  
  179.  "DOOM -file <xxxx.wad>"        
  180.  
  181.  Where the xxxx is, substitute with the name of the PWAD, and include
  182.  the .WAD extension.
  183.  An example would be:  "DOOM -file cool.wad"
  184.  
  185.  You can combine PWADS in one line.
  186.  There are also sound files on PWADS that are ran the same way.

  188.                                 LMP (Demos)
  189.  
  190.  An .lmp file is a recording of a game of DOOM, either single player or
  191.  a deathmatch game.  You can even make a recording of your favorite
  192.  PWAD file.  These are fun to sit back and watch, as your friends dueled
  193.  on Deathmatch, or if you need to know where secret rooms are!

  195.  To record a demo type at the DOOM directory:

  197.  DOOM -devparm -record <demo name w/o .lmp>

  199.  Do not include the .lmp.

  201.  To record your favorite PWAD type at the DOOM directory:
