  17. What I am against, is use of pirated software in business. Business's can
  18. afford to buy their software. I sell software (to businesses) and I would
  19. be pissed if everyone ripped my software. So like buy shit you really like.
  20. 99% of the warez coming out suck. The first game i've bought in 10 years
  21. was Wing Commander III. Its pretty kewl and impossible to copy so I bought
  22. it. Havent really played it much yet, but it looks cool.

  26. This file is a beginners' primer on leeching pirated software off the
  27. internet.

  31. Part I: What is Warez?:
  32.  
  33. Warez is a simple, easier to understand term in the most legale form.
  34. FUCKING PIRATED ILLEGALLY DISTRIBUTED SOFTWARE. But since most people pirate
  35. at one point or another, and the Surgeon General has now come out with a
  36. statement that at least 90% of all 4th graders with computers have pirated
  37. software, Im thinking its a pretty commonly understood term. If you have
  38. a problem with Piracy, don't do it. Don't hang around those who do it. Don't
  39. smoke pot. Don't eat chicken fried rice with curry chicken. Yummm. brb
  40.  
  41. Anyways. Warez is typically a copy of a game/utility, PKzip'ed by diskette,
  42. ready to unzip (see pkunzip) on to your computer to play/use/abuse/etc.
  43. Any software imaginable is available on the internet. More specifically,
  44. most of the time you can find the LATEST games/utils/etc. Older stuff is
  45. harder to come by unless you know someone with a big stash of warez or who
  46. will restore it off tape and upload it to you.

  48. OK, I understand what Warez is now. Now
  49. what?:
  50. Simple dude, there are many ways to get warez. Traditionally the dialup
  51. BBS, your BUDDY, taking them form work have always worked. But the
  52. anonyminity is little and the slow-ness factor in getting such warez is
  53. usually much slower than the net.

  55. Irc:
  56.  
  57. This is probably the most popular method of trading warez on the efNET.
  58. load up irc on your unix box, WS_IRC on your windows, or whatever else
  59. you use. Point it to  the EFNET (standard net, try irc.uoknor.edu or
  60. irc.coloradu.edu). Fire up the program. Pick a decent nick name. I'd avoid
  61. faggie, lame nicks like "pir8, 3l33t, WareZtR8Dr", be a little more
  62. sophisticated and creative than opening up a copy of the "Hackers Crackdown"
  63. to pick a nickname.

  65. A good nick will go a long ways, A bad nick will get your ragged and flamed
  66. and kicked in no time. Remember use CASE CORRECTLY. I hate fuqurs that don't
  67. know when to shift and not. They should all burn in fucking hell with their
  68. fingers stuck in the hot oil of a fry-daddy. Dumbasses.

  70. So you /Nick YOURNICK and you ready to rip up the warez channels.
  71. As of this writing i'll tell you where everyone hangs and how to find them
  72. on EFNET.

  74. The first command:    /list *ware*
  75.  will list all public warez channels, Most of these are real lame and a good
  76.  place to begin. Obviously if theres only one person in that channel, you
  77.  need to skip it. You aren't gonna be tradin with your self now are you?

  79. Try these /join's in this order to find yourself the best channel. Don't
  80. be suprised if you get kicked on join. Most people don't take to newcomers
  81. that quick!

  83. /join #warez        <--- the MAIN channel. 99% private
  84. /join #warez2       <--- Lamahs Part 1   . 99% private too, just lamer.
  85. /join #warez1       <--- Even lamah, usually less private.
  86. /join #warez3       <--- Even more lamahs, Mostly private now.
  87. /join #warez4       <--- Totally lame, usually full or public
  88. /join #warez5       <--- TYPICAL STARTING POINT for YOU lamer.
  89. /join #warez6,7,8   <--- on a busy night its easier to keep the groups
  90.                          smaller.

  92. Other pir8 channels: #Mac_Warez, #Amiga_Warez, #SNES_WAREZ, #traders,
  93.                      #warez54, #warez0, #zeraw, etc.

  95. Ok you'll get either "Cannot join, (Private channel)" or you'll get in.
  96. You've gotta be REAL ST00pid to not get in one channel.

  98. Okay first thing your gonna need if you under Linux,unix etc, is a script.
  99. You pretty much suck if your using non-unix , but thats another faq.

  101. so say just like this or change the wording if you want..

  103. "Hay dudes, i lost my old account and just got a new one and i need some
  104. scripts like phoenix, or textbox or NaCHOS!" -- Remember the CAPS rule.

  106. (i do not work for any of these script writers, just giving them a plug).

  108. Some dude will, after enough begging, give you a script. This leads us to
  109. the next section on DCC priming.
  110.  
  111. DCC:
  112.  Part of the CTCP(client to client protocol) and I forget what dcc means.
  113. DCC is basically a method of semi-securely sending text/programs/chat from
  114. one computer to another on the net. Sorta like Zmodem, you send or get
  115. programs with it. If you dont understand Sending/receiving, you must be
  116. like too lame for this WaReZfaq and should immediately kill yourself with
  117. your modem cable.

  119. *** DCC SEND (phoenix.irc 128674) request received from Byte

  121. ^^^ Means someones sending you shit. Your mileage may vary on wording.

  123. You have like 30 seconds max typically to get the DCC, so get off your
  124. ass if you don't have an auto-dcc get script. It's rude to leave dcc
  125. requests sitting for long.

  127. /dcc <--unix, will list any all pending dcc's
  128. /dcc GET USERNAME FILENAME <-- get a file
  129. /dcc SEND USERNAME FILENAME <-- send someone a file.

  131. This is like the lamers way of doing shit, and will wear out your
  132. fingers fast since it don't auto-get or offer shit. Wildcards don't
  133. work either, doesnt that suck. Shitty irc client. Remember Unix is CASE
  134. sensitive to filenames.

  136. XDCC et variants:

  138. Most major ScRiPtZ come with XDCC or a variant (hdcc,pdcc, dccme all that
  139. shit. i like Xdcc best myself since it wuz first).

  141. Xdcc basically does 2 things:
  142. 1. automatically gets DCC's people send to you. This helps with those
  143.    damn 10 game disks n shit. Vunderfool.
  144. 2. Offers and automatically send Files you OFFER to give others.

  146. There are many ways to get files from different scripts.
  147. say Joe is offering File 1 by:
  148. HDCC: /msg joe hdcc send #1
  149. Xdcc: /msg joe xdcc send #1
  150. dccme: /msg joe dccme send 1
  151. etc. Some use CTCP (/ctcp joe xdcc send #1)

  236. FTP/FSP/HTTP warez sites:

  238. A site is usually a computer thats been hacked into and some puds are using
  239. its disk space and bandwidth to deliver da goods :)
  240.  
  241. Remember unix is good security. Typically everything transferred, said, etc
  242. can be monitored and logged. Never admit to pirating. Don't start up your
  243. own site (for warez). Don't tell people you hacked systems. Stay outta jail
  244. and like courier warez n shit.

  246. Typically FTP sites, FSP sites, sometimes even HTTP sites(www) can be found
  247. publicly available, you usually need to get your self comfortably in a
  248. channel and start to get to know people. DO NOT BEG FOR SITES, WILL WORK
  249. FOR ZITES, is the quickest way to get ur ass banned off the channel.

  251. BE SUBTLE -- get some warez, offer them to others. On different channels
  252. and at different hours of the day.  This is the best way to get sites, but
  253. schoozin' your way in.
  254.  
  255. FSP - if you have a fsp client, you just FSP SITENAME PORT#
  256. FTP - Typically you FTP HOSTNAME, then you login as "ftp" or "anonymous"
  257.       and use FUCK@you.com for the password.
  258. commands for fsp&ftp:
  259. get - get a file off the site.
  260. put - send a file to the site.
  261. ls  - list files
  262. dir - list files
  263. cd - Change directory -- cd dirname, or if special chars are present
  264.                          use cd "dir name". Remember unix uses / for
  265.                          directory instead of the dos backslash(\)
  266.  
  267. FTP_only:
  268. bin - always type this before getting a file
  269. mget - multi-get, like mget *

  273. Strange File Formats of unix:
  274.  
  275. asdfasdfaf.tar = tar file (zip without compression sorta)
  276.                  tar xvf FILENAME will un-lib it
  277. asdfasdfas.tgz = tar Gzipped.
  278.                  gunzip FILENAME , then tar xvf FILENAME.tar
  279. asdfasdfas.gz  = Gzipped, just gunzip FILENAME.

  292. FSP - socket protocol for transferring files "covertly" also slowly.
  293. DCC - About as safe as FSP, which is much safer than FTP.
