WWStrip v.1.21

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
─────────────────
By default, WWStrip removes both the NET33+ routing
information and the WWIV/VBBS color codes from a file,
outputting the "stripped" version to another file. However, you
can disable either the NET33+ routing stripping OR the color
stripping. You can also strip "directly" from a file, not
having to bother with a second and superflous output file.
Why remove the NET33+ routing info? Try using the "E"xtract
command while you're reading a message and then reading it
outside of the BBS. You'll usually see a bunch of JUNK at the
beginning and/or end. WWStrip takes care of it VERY quickly and
efficiently. Great for making ascii versions of menus, too!
──────────────────
How to use WWStrip
──────────────────
WWStrip is REAL easy! WWIV or VBBS, to use the default
settings (strip both the NET33+ routing info AND the color
codes), just type:
WWSTRIP infile.ext outfile.ext
where infile.ext is the file you want to strip, and outfile.ext
is the file you want to contain the stripped data! If you wish
to keep either the color codes or the routing info, you can
utilize one of these command line parameters:
/N - strips color but saves routing info
/C - strips routing but saves color.
To use these, simply append the appropriate one to the command
line. In other words, lets say you "E"xtracted a mod from
ModNet and want to give it a look. However, since the intent of
the mod is to put a colorized box around your transfer section,
you need to save the colors while stripping all the excess
network routing info. Use this:
WWSTRIP COLORBOX.MOD COLORBOX.TXT /C.
If you would like to remove the colors straight FROM the
file, use the same input and output name. WWStrip will use a
temp file called WWSTRIP.$$$ for the stripped copy, then
transfer it over to the original filename. This ensures that if
something happens (bad sector, etc.) that your original file
will remain intact.
On a side note, I guess don't use WWSTRIP.$$$ as an output name
<g>...that will mess things up.
To use the above example, we'll strip the routing info straight
from the mod you extracted.
WWSTRIP COLORBOX.MOD COLORBOX.MOD /C
Now you don't have to fool with renaming the stripped file back
to the original name you extracted!!

Registration
────────────
WWStrip costs only $2. Please support the shareware
concept by evaluating the program for 30 days. If you like it
and plan to continue using it, fill out the REGISTER.TXT form
and send in your check. If you don't like it or don't plan to
continue using it, please discontinue its use. Either way,
pass the shareware package (see README.1st) to friends and feel
free to post it for downloading on your BBS
WWStrip is a fully functional program, but you will
recieve a registered version without shareware/registration
reminders.
Again, please read the REGISTER.TXT file for details on
the program registration, and how to save some dough on other
Platypus Programs.

Platypus Programming Support Biscuits
─────────────────────────────────────
What is support? Quite simply, we will answer your questions
and take your suggestions!!! If you love something, tell us!
If you hate it, tell us that, too! No suggestion is too
bizzare! <g>
Platypus Programming offers support through WWIVNet, IceNet,
WWIVLink, ASSnet, VirtualNet, and *many* other networks. In
WWIV networks, look in your SUBS.LST file for sub-type PLATPS!
In VirtualNet, use VAREA to subscribe. Look under the
"Software" topic for a sub called "Platypus Prog. Support
Bisquits". Support is available through that sub and that is
probably the easiest way to reach the authors. The "home
system" of Platypus Programming is WWIVLink @18262, WWIVNet
@8265, so feel free to send mail to #1 on any of those networks.
You can reach us via Internet at michael.lerch@hal9k.com. On
VirtualNet, you can use #30@1812006.
Feel free to write us via Snail Mail, as well. Our address is:
