SuperK HST Configuration Help
The SuperK HST installation/configuration utility may be entered
at any time via the DOS command SKCNF. Additionally, SKINST will
accept a main menu command which may be included with the DOS
command line which executes SKCNF. The main menu commands are:
A - Install SuperK
B - Configure SuperK
C - Install Name and Serial Number
E - SuperK Help / Order Info
D - Create Batch Files
For example, entering SKINST B at the DOS prompt will execute
SKINST and automatically take you directly to that Configuration
subsection.
SuperK HST holds your default settings within the main SKHST.COM
program file so you MUST select the Quit with Save option in order
to save your defaults to file.
Since all of the command line parameters can be predefined, SuperK
HST may be called with a minimum of hassle. For example... with
the default direction set to Receive, receiving files is as simple
as calling SuperK HST without any command line switches. Sending
files with this configuration would require the line switch to
change direction, F and the filespec in the form SKHST S F
filespec

A - Install SuperK
SuperK HST is packaged in its own special library (SuperK.HST) and
must be installed via this option. After successful installation,

that the default SuperK HST settings may be reviewed and changed
if need be.

defaults.

C - Install Name and Serial Number
When registerd, SuperK HST holds both the registered user's name
and serial number. This option allows the registered user to
upgrade to a later version without having to contact Crater Rim
Software (as was the case with the old SuperK driver).
E - Create Batch Files
Since SKINST uses all of your current SuperK HST settings while
creating the files in this section, be SURE to check and set all
of your defaults before using any of the following commands. If
your particular setup requires separate log and xfer filenames for
each BBS node in operation, you will have to edit each batch file
to include the appropriate command line switches and the
corresponding alternate log/xfer file names.
All BATCH/Support files are placed in SKBATS - a special
subdirectory created by SKINST in the current logged directory.
Please note that this subdirectory is created purely to hold the
BATCH/Support files until you have reviewed, edited (if neccesary)
and moved them to your main BBS directory... At which time, any
remaining files and the SKBATS subdirectory may be removed.
a) Create batch files
This option will create a generic set batch files using the
current SuperK HST defaults.
b) Create RBBS PROTO,DEF
This option will create a standard RBBS-PC PROTO.DEF file
under the filename of SKPROTO.DEF. You may want to review
the PROTO.DEF file and make command letter changes.
c) Create PCBoard files
This option will create a new PCBPROT.DEF file under the
filename of PCBPROT.SK and optionally, a set of standard
PCBoard batch files.
Esc key returns to main menu bar.
F - Quit to DOS
This option exits SKINST and returns back to DOS.
Please refer to the SuperK HST Documentation for setup, configuration
and operation help.
SysOps - Be sure to read BBS-REG.SKL for information on how you can
obtain your registered copy of SuperK HST at no charge!
