  3. [R]eset Pointers
  4. ---------------------------------------------------------------------

  6. This function will reset your 'Last Message Read' pointers in all of
  7. your selected forums.  When you choose [R]eset Pointers, you will be
  8. presented with this prompt:

  10. Enter number of messages you wish to receive, or [Enter] to Abort :
  11.  
  12. If you enter a number, MainMail will find the highest message number
  13. in each forum you have SELECTED (see [S]elect for information on
  14. selecting forums), subtract this number from it, and set your 'Last
  15. Message Read' pointer to the new number.

  17. For example, if the highest message in one of your SELECTED forums is
  18. 100, and you enter 20, MainMail will set your 'last exported' counter
  19. for that forum to 80, (100-20) so that next time you download, you
  20. will receive 20 messages in that forum.  MainMail then repeats this
  21. for each of your SELECTED forums.

  23. This is an easy way to tell The MainMail System to extract a given
  24. number of messages from each of the forums you take.

  26. If you press [Enter] alone, MainMail will abort this function, and
  27. return you to the main prompt.
