PoSTiT Documentation September 17, 1999
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jeff "Grapes" Weese
Introduction
------------
In previous versions of PoSTiT I claimed the script as being an
automessage replacement for Telegard's default automessage
system. I used an incorrect term for this. PoSTiT is simple
another user input script for Telegard, it is in no means a
replacement for the default Telegard automessage.
PoSTiT allows the user to select between three different types
of news. "News", "BBS Advertisements" and "PoSTiT". Each
selection is a tad different from the next.
Installation
------------
Installation couldn't be easier. Simply copy PoSTiT to your
Telegard\text directory. From here you can use several methods
of installing the script within Telegard. You can use the menu
command "E-" from a normal menu or simple insert MENU E- in
your logon.scr to have the script called during the logon
sequence.
You must edit PoSTiT.SCR and change lines 97, 190, and 276 to
reflect the path to your Telegard\Text directory. I do not
recommend changing the output filename unless following the
instructions for running more than one instance of PoSTiT.
Changes
-------
Not a change in a the script, but the documentation has been
changed :)
Uncomment line 34 to allow only those with ACS 200 or higher
to change the PoSTiT message.
Options
-------
Several people have questioned whether you can run the script
several times and have several output files? Wondering if I
could code this into the script. Since I no longer have the
time to work on the script here is a little hint for running
several instances with different output files.
1) Copy PoSTiT.SCR to another filename, this should create
another copy of the script under a different name.
2) Edit your new copy and change "POSTIT" in line 31 to a new
output filename.
3) Edit your new copy and change the output filename in lines
97, 190, and 276 to whatever name you gave your new output
filename in step (2).
