  2. Rules and Guidelines

  8. SHAREWARE_SUPPORT is a product support echo open to all for the discussion,
  9. chat, assistance, etc. of Shareware products.  Open to all authors, users,
  10. distributors, support sites and everyone who uses shareware.
  11. Posting a message in this echo will be understood by the Moderator to be a
  12. declaration of your intent to abide by these and any other rules that may,
  13. of necessity, be formulated.  *Post in English Only Please.*
  14. 1. The topics of this conference should be related to Shareware, Shareware
  15. Support and, related to Shareware, including distributors, authors and
  16. users alike.
  17. 2.  Avoid excessive quoting. Try to quote enough of the message so that
  18. the person you are responding to understands the reply and can relate
  19. it to what was being discussed.
  20. 3.  Users are requested to please consider both the QUALITY and QUANTITY
  21. of what they post, keeping in mind the costs incurred for moving the
  22. mail.
  23. 4.  If you feel that someone is out of line, please make the Moderator aware
  24. of the situation through Netmail, and allow them to follow through.
  25. DON'T FLAME.  Any messages not on-topic will be considered annoying.
  26. *Do not be easily annoyed.  Do not be annoying.*
  27. In other words....  Be nice.  Play fair.
  28. 5.  Use of handles and or aliases is not allowed.  Those people who are
  29. logged on to bbs's using an alias should post their real names
  30. prominently in the body of each message they post.
  31. 6. Discussion of software piracy, including ways to 'register' unregistered
  32. shareware will not be tolerated.  *CAUSE FOR IMMEDIATE BANISHMENT.*
  33. 7. There shall be no bashing of hardware, hardware manufacturers, software
  34. programs, software authors or any other individuals. If you have a
  35. problem with a program, company or piece of equipment and want to discuss
  36. it in an effort to get some help, fine, but let's not tear something down
  37. unless you can offer constructive suggestions for building it back up.
  38. *There will not be any widget wars.*
  39. That's it, except that if someone comes up with a new and improved way to
  40. aggravate people, I reserve the right to make a rule to fit the occasion.

  46. to the minute you start using the evaluation copy.  If you use

  49. infringing on his/her Copyrights.

  68. As some of you will recall Thom and I have fought hard to keep this echo
  69. alive and a viable forum to offer assistance and news about our favourite
  70. ARTWARE and SHAREWARE products.
  71. Please extend the same courtesy and consideration to Thom as you have me,
  72. I will no doubt be popping in once and awhile.  Thom will notify all when
  73. the transition is complete.
