  3.                    GUIDELINES FOR ELIST ECHO CONFERENCE
  4.  
  5.         These guidelines are designed to clarify the purpose and operation
  6.         of the ELIST echo.
  7.  
  8. 1.  DESCRIPTION
  9.  
  10.         ELIST is an unrestricted administrative echo, connecting the
  11.         Echolist (Elist) Coordinator and others having an interest in
  12.         the contents of the Elist.
  13.  
  14. 2.  PURPOSE
  15.  
  16.         The intent of this echo is to provide public information on echo
  17.         conference updates between the monthly Elist file distribution
  18.         dates.  This echo also provides access to the Elist's author for
  19.         questions about the database.
  20.  
  21. 3.  MODERATOR
  22.  
  23.         The Moderator of ELIST is the Echolist Coordinator - 1:1/21.
  24.  
  25. 4.  DISTRIBUTION
  26.  
  27.         Participation in ELIST is open to anyone having an interest in 
  28.         the Elist and its operation.
  29.  
  30. 5.  FEED STRUCTURE
  31.  
  32.         Any sysop is welcome to distribute the echo within Fidonet without 
  33.         further notice.  Permission is also granted to gate this echo to 
  34.         other networks, provided that the Echolist Coordinator (1:1/21) is
  35.         advised in advance, and standard gating technical conventions
  36.         are followed.

  38. 6.  TOPICS
  39.  
  40.         Acceptable postings in this echo are as follows:

  42.                 a.  Elist moderator updates posted by 1:1/21
  43.                 b.  Elist status announcements posted by 1:1/21
  44.                 c.  Elist help files posted by 1:1/21
  45.                 d.  Questions from participants about Elist operations
  46.  
  47.         Prohibited in this echo are as follows:

  49.                 a.  Flames
  50.                 b.  Commercial advertisements
  51.                 c.  IBM-type "high ASCII" (>127) characters
  52.                 d.  Aliases
  53.                 e.  Messages regarding the moderation of this echo
  54.  
  55. These rules may be posted to the echo by the Moderator as often as he
  56. deems necessary.  Use common sense, people, and we can all get along.
