This command allows you to access several subfunctions related to the
maintenance of your file system. Only SYSOPs can access these commands.
\yeGet\no - The Get command is used to load the names of existing files into
the BBS's directory, without having to upload them.
To add files to a directory, use DOS commands to copy the files to the
appropriate disk and directory. When you execute GET, the BBS reads the disk
directory of the active drive and compares the filenames it finds to the
filenames in its own internal directory list. When a new file is found, its
name is printed and you are prompted to enter a 1 to 40 character
description of the file. If you enter no description, the file is skipped;
otherwise, it is added to the BBS's list of files.
To use GET, you must specify a filename or wildcard mask for the file(s)
you wish to add. Enter "*" to search all the files in the directory.
\yeImport\no - Searchlight's Import facility allows you to use file lists and
descriptions from many sources. Please consult your user manual for further
information.
\yeUpdate\no - This command compares the BBS's directory with the DOS
directory of the current drive. It is used to update the sizes of files which
have changed size since they were uploaded or added to the BBS directory.
Update will place a "*" next to the directory listing of any files which
have been deleted from the disk but remain in the system's file list.
\yeBalance\no - Similar to the "Balance" command on the Extended Sysop menu,
this command reorganizes (and repairs, if neccesary) the binary tree structure
used to hold the filenames, descriptions, passwords, and other information
associated with files. Use this command if you suspect that your "DIR" file
has been damaged.
