WWIV Dream Match v1.00
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Introduction
This program is for all sysops who have grown sick of bland-looking
and uninteresting online matchmakers. I tried to focus more on program
control and cosmetic effects to give this program a little more flair.
Since I began "test-marketting" on my own board, I have gotten many
good comments, and no bad ones (so far), so I can only hope the same
will be the case for you or anyone else using it. It is however, made
exclusively for WWIV boards, so be warned that it will NOT work using
other BBS softwares.
Quick Setup
Setup for WDM couldn't possibly be any easier. Just unzip the
zip file into your WWIV directory. This should include two .EXE files:
MM.EXE - The matchmaker itself.
MMCFG.EXE - The configuration program.
To start off, you should first go into CHAINEDIT, and add a chain
called WWIV Dream Match. You MUST have DOS Intercept Calls set to ON.
If this is not done, the program will not function correctly. Also,
you may want answer yes to the Shrink option, although this is not
always neccessary. As long as all the files from the zip package ARE
in the main BBS directory, and you enter "MM" or "MM.EXE" as the file-
name for the chain, the program should work instantly.
Configuration and Registration
In order to register, or to reset the matchmaker, you will run a
program called MMCFG.EXE. The program is very simple and easy to
understand, so there shouldn't be any problems. One thing you should
watch out for however, is to make SURE that your printer is ON AND
READY if you print the registration form out. Otherwise, your machine
may lock and you will have to reboot it. Registration is only $5.00
for regular delivery, and $10.00 for quick-mail. The registration
form explains things a little better.
WARNING
Do NOT try and edit the questions. Although this may appear to work
when you run the program, it will NOT match people correctly. The
questions are custom-made to fit the .EXE file and some questions are
matched with different question numbers. For instance, #7 may be
compared to another persons #13, and vice versa, in order to better
make a match. You will understand better when you try the program
yourself.
Enjoy,
