About Bapwall:
Bapwall is a simple little program that runs as either a login
function or as a menu hook. It gives the ability for you
users to enter a 2 line message on a graffiti wall
environment.
Gaurantees:
There is none! :) It's gauranteed to just site there on your
system taking up VERY LITTLE SPACE.
Setting it up:
The Bapwall in itself is a very simplistic program it
consists of only 4 files that are actually needed to make it
run.
1. BapWall.wcx (the program file)
2. BapWall.cfg (the programs config file)
3. BapWall.BBS (Display file for the Wall)
4. BapClr.BBS (Display file for the Wall)
Other files either created or used:
1. Bapwall.dat (The actual names, messages, and dates of the
wall)
2. BapHTML.dat (Same as above but used for HTML Generation)
3. RedBrick.JPG (Background .JPG for the HTML)
4. Your HTML file (created when run)
5. BadWords.dat (Bad words file)
Okay now lets get this setup
Pick a directory, and copy all of the files in the archive
into that directory. COPY the bapwall.wcx file into your
Wildcat HOME directory. This must be done, otherwise Wildcat
will not see the Bapwall program.
Edit the Bapwall.cfg file (line by line explanation in the
.cfg file)
Line1: Your registration number (0 if no reg number)
Line2: Path and Filename of your HTML screen.
Line3: Do you Want to let users use Aliases (Y/N)
Line4: Are you running this as a Logon program (Y/N)
There is a file called RedBrick.JPG included in this archive.
Its what the HTML background screen based on. This MUST GO
into your /http/public directory. Otherwise you will get an
error while the HTML is viewed.
Running it:
A) From a Logon.wcx file
If you have wcCODE and would like to use the BapWall as a
logon function, all you have to do is enter one line in
your logon.wcc file. The line is:
Run "Bapwall","c:\wc5\bapwall\"
Replacing the path with your own path to the Bapwall
files. The next time a user logs on, they will be asked if
they would like to write on the wall. Thats all she
wrote :)
B) From a menu hook:
Open up the WcMENU folder, and go to any menu option that
you want the Bapwall to be accessed from. Add a new entry
to that menu with the following settings:
Selection key: (Anything you would like)
Description : (Anything you would like)
Command type : Run wcCODE Program
Program : Select Bapwall from the drop down pick
list. If it aint there you didn't copy
it over to the wildcat home directory.
Parameters : Your path to the rest of the Bapwall
files.
Set your access, and you are ready to go!
