~~~~~~~~~~~~
Create a seperate directory on your hard disk for A-Wall. Unzip the
Archive into that directory.
i.e
MD C:\BBS\DOORS\AWALL
PKUNZIP AWALL10.ZIP C:\BBS\DOORS\AWALL
I've included a sample configuration file for you to look at if you
need help. The layout for the config file is as follows:
LINE 1: Path and filename to DOOR.SYS
EXAMPLE: C:\PCB\DOOR.SYS
LINE 2: SysOps Name (not case sensative)
EXMAPLE: Billy Sargent
LINE 3: BBS Name (CASE SENSATIVE!!)
EXAMPLE: The Data Connection BBS
LINE 4: Path and filename for log file
EXAMPLE: C:\PCB\DOORS\AWALL\AWALL.LOG
LINE 5: Path and filename to a list of "bad words"
EXAMPLE: C:\PCB\DOORS\AWALL\BADWORDS.LST
LINE 6: Path and filename to a list of "locked out" users
EXAMPLE: C:\PCB\DOORS\AWALL\LOCKED.OUT
Configuring your BBS Package
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Most BBS packages offer support for DOORs to run in the logon.
PCBoard offers this support in its Doors Menu Editor. If you are
running PCBoard, heres the configuration in your DOORS.LST file:
Filename Password Sec Login UserSYS DoorSYS Shell Path
-------- -------- --- ----- ------- ------- ----- ----
AWALL 0 Y N Y S C:\PCB\DOORS\AWALL
If you are running other software, consult your operators manual
for more information on running doors in the login. If it doesnt
support this, buy PCBoard. <GRIN>
"Bad Words"
~~~~~~~~~~~
This is about the best feature that I can think of in a oneliner
program. Alot of users will get into one of these type programs
and use bad language and cause trouble. No more. With this option,
you can define billions and billions of words you don't want your
users to be able to use in the oneliners, and it will NOT allow
them to save it. If they try to enter a word that is in the bad
words list, they will be presented with a little message explaining
that the word they used in the oneliner is not permitted by the sysop,
and be returned to the BBS. It will write this to the log file (line #
4 in the configuration file) and tell you who it was, what they said
and when they said it. You can then torture that user for doing it <G>
See next section <G>
"Locked Out" users
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With this feature, you can lock certain users out of this door. This
comes in handy if they try to use "bad words" too often. Just edit
the Locked out users list (Line # 6 in configuration file) and start
adding names (not case sensative). If a user tries to access this door,
and is locked out, they'll recieve a short message telling them they
do not have access to the door, and they will be sent back to the BBS.
Command Line Parameters
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Only one command line parameter, the config filename.
Features in future versions
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-PCBoard and TriBBS @X codes for color changing
-Ability to AUTOMATICALLY lock out users who use bad words
too many times.
-Database of entered Oneliners for SysOps review
-COM 3 and 4 support
-Multitasker support
-RIP support
-EVERY message, prompt, and display will be customizable
Additional Information
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I used NO Door Library to write this door. All routines were written
by hand. That is mainly why there isn't support for @Codes YET.
Alot of hard work went into this. I didn't want to NAG everyone to
death to register. Thats why I haven't crippled this in ANY way, shape,
or form.
If you have any suggestions, or anything, call me at (812)897-8757
on The Data Connection BBS, and leave the SysOp a message on what
you think about this door. Oh, BTW, Registration is cheap, just call
my BBS and download the patch to upgade your version to the registered
version. :)
*LEGAL INFO*
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The upgraded patch is NOT SHAREWARE. It is NOT to be uploaded to ANY
Bulletin Board or ANY online service. Anyone caught doing so, or any
BBS caught having it online WILL BE PROSECUTED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT
OF THE LAW. A-Wall IS Copyrighted By Billy Sargent. This version,
which has "UNREGISTERED" on it, can, and may be FREELY distributed
to ALL Bulletin Boards! (please upload it everywhere!!!!!)
