  1.                SON-net  Statement of Faith

  3. WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the Divinely inbreathed, infallible,
  4. inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.
  5.  
  6. WE BELIEVE that there is one God, externally existent in three Divine
  7. persons:  God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. (The
  8. Holy Trinity).  One of the marks of a cult is the denial of the 
  9. Trinity.  The other mark of a cult is to deny salvation by faith 
  10. alone apart from works.

  12. WE BELIEVE that all men are sinners in need of a Saviour and that
  13. salvation is ONLY found in the Lord Jesus Christ.  All mankind 
  14. needs a Saviour.  No one can save himself.  Jesus is the Saviour 
  15. to all who reach out to Him in repentance and faith.
  16.  
  17. WE BELIEVE in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His
  18. unqualified deity (He is God in human flesh), His sinless 
  19. humanity and perfect life, the eternal all-sufficiency of His 
  20. atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascention to the 
  21. Father's right hand, and His personal future return to this 
  22. earth in power and glory to rule.

  24. WE BELIEVE in the Blessed Hope - the pre-tribulation rapture of the 
  25. Church which could happen at any time.  We believe that God is blessing
  26. and fulfilling prophecies related to the nation of Israel and end time
  27. events.  We also reject other prophetic views that seek to steal the
  28. blessed hope of the rapture from the Christian or those that seek to 
  29. nullify God's eternal promises to the Nation of Israel.

  31. WE BELIEVE that justification is a judical act of God on the believer's
  32. behalf solely on the merits of Christ, and that regeneration by the
  33. power of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
  34. Man cannot save himself.  He is a lost sinner in need of a Saviour.
  35.  
  36. WE BELIEVE that salvation is a gift of God received with a repentant
  37. heart and that salvation cannot be earned or merited by good works.
  38.  
  39. WE BELIEVE in Christ's Lordship over the Church, the observance of the
  40. ordinances of Christian baptism by immersion for believers and the
  41. Lord's Supper.  Both baptism and the Lord's supper have no part in
  42. salvation but are performed in obedience by those who are already saved.

  44. WE BELIEVE in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed in heaven and the
  45. eternal doom of the unregenerate in the lake of fire.  When a person 
  46. dies he will either spend his eternity in Heaven or in Hell.  His
  47. eternal destiny is determined on his acceptance or rejection of the
  48. Lord Jesus Christ and the salvation He freely offers.
