  3.     Policies of the TRS-MOD134 National TRS80 Conference

  7.     The TRS-MOD134 echo is for the discussion of the TRS80
  8.  Models I,  III, 4x computers, related hardware, software,
  9.  and TRSLink TRS80 Magazine. There are other Tandy related
  10.  conferences for the CoCo and Model 1000-series computers.
  11.  Please  limit the  discussions in this  conference to the
  12.  Model I/III/4x TRS80 line of computers.
  13.  
  14.  FidoNet, FamilyNet,  and other networks carrying this echo
  15.  feed  are  encouraged to send netmail to 1:363/363 so that
  16.  an  accurate  count  of systems can be managed.  New nodes
  17.  should send information regarding System Name, SysOp, Max.
  18.  Baud Rate Supported, Network Address, System Phone Number,
  19.  and if  TRS80 computers are supported with file transfers.
  20.  
  21.  All sites receiving the feed are included in TRS80BBS.DOC,
  22.  TRSLink disk-based magazine's monthly BBS list. TRSLink is
  23.  distributed on the fifteenth day of each month. Deadline for
  24.  submissions  are no later than the seventh calendar day of
  25.  any given month.
  26.  
  27.  Members  of supporting bulletin boards have an opportunity
  28.  to have questions  regarding TRS80 computers answered by a
  29.  large group of knowledgeable people. However, certain actions
  30.  will not be tolerated here and can be deemed "excessively
  31.  annoying" as provided in FidoNet's POLICY 4:
  32.  
  33.       1) Flames will not be tolerated. If you have a valid
  34.          beef against another user here in this conference,
  35.          use netmail. Flames are a waste of band-width, and
  36.          the offending party will have their SysOp informed
  37.          of their indiscretions.
  38.  
  39.       2) All users of this conference are requested to use
  40.          lower case when posting. Upper case typing looks like
  41.          you are screaming, and your messages are generally
  42.          overlooked. There isn't a single computer around that
  43.          can't use lower-case, unless you are using an early
  44.          Model I without the lower-case modification installed.
  45.  
  46.       3) Extensive signatures, high-bit ASCII graphics, or
  47.          repeated advertising of non-FidoNet boards will not be
  48.          allowed. We encourage SysOps using TRS80-based BBSes
  49.          to let others know of their systems, but it is not
  50.          necessary to place your system information on each
  51.          message you post. Extended (IBM) graphics are not
  52.          allowed here. Not every user has an IBM computer, and
  53.          those graphics do very strange things to the uninit-
  54.          ated.

  56.       4) Foul, abusive, language is not allowed. This is a
  57.          family conference. If you cannot keep your language
  58.          clean, find another conference that allows it.
  59.  
  60.       5) The discussion of this policy, other bulletin board
  61.          policies, verification procedures used, origin lines,
  62.          or other unrelated discussions are not allowed. General
  63.          chatting, however, is allowed, provided that it does
  64.          not get out of hand. We like to consider everyone here
  65.          our friends, and welcome interesting conversations, but
  66.          you must remember that SysOps *PAY* to have this echo
  67.          sent to them; therefore you must exercise restraint.
  68.  
  69.  Persons who violate these policies will be warned once in this
  70.  conference. The second time the SysOp at the origin line will be
  71.  notified of policy violation. The third and final time will be
  72.  the removal of the offending user from the conference. All messages
  73.  leading up to the policy violation will be exported to a disk file
  74.  and may be used to initiate those procedures.
