  1.                Rules of the ASKACOP2 Conference
  2.  
  3. ASKACOP2 is a conference where users can ask questions of police
  4. officers, federal agents, and other law enforcement officials.
  5. It is NOT a forum for Cop Bashing. At times, other topics may be
  6. appropriate -- subject to Moderator's ruling.
  7.  
  8. Insofar as this is a Fidonet backbone conference, there may also
  9. be rules pertaining to conferences which are carried on the
  10. backbone that apply herein.
  11.  
  12. This conference is also actively circulated in other networks.
  13. It is expected that participants herein will conduct themselves
  14. in a polite and friendly manner. Unsupported hearsay and uninformed
  15. opinion are disinvited, as is zealotry in any form. The current
  16. Moderator will also not tolerate FLAMES, profanity or invective.

  18. Technical discussions regarding firearms should be taken to the
  19. FIREARMS echo. Discusions regarding the right to keep and bear arms
  20. should be taken to the RTKBA Echo.
  21.  
  22. Drug legalization discussions should be taken to appropriate echo(s).
  23.  
  24. The use of a 'Handle' or an 'AKA' is not permitted. If your BBS 
  25. configuration can not be changed, please sign your real name to 
  26. your message.
  27.  
  28. Do not post magazine articles or any previously published material, 
  29. with the exception of very brief quotes, without the prior approval 
  30. of the Moderator (via NetMail).
  31.  
  32. Messages bearing the line "No response to this message is necessary"
  33. are not to be responded to. Decisions of the Moderator are not open
  34. for discussion. If you wish to address a Moderator decision, please
  35. do it by NetMail.

  37. Messages/questions requiring information from a Law Enforcement
  38. Officer will be answered _only_ by an officer.

  40. When responding to any message, quote or type a few lines (only)
  41. of that message so as to indicate the subject matter of that
  42. particular thread.

  44. Posting a message in this echo will be understood by the Moderator
  45. to be a declaration of your intent to abide by these and any other
  46. rules that may, of necessity, be formulated.

  48. Repeated, willful and flagrant violations of the rules of ASKACOP2
  49. will result in a request to the offender's NC to cut access to this
  50. echo.
  51.  
  52. The Moderator wishes to exercise a "gentle hand" on the echo's
  53. reins......please assist him in this.
