┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ FileMenu PCBoard 15.2 PPE J Command Replacement <Shareware> │
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
FileMenu is the *only* PPE around that will greatly enhance your file
directory menu, give you search capability (finally) for descriptions
of file directories, and let's you never have to worry about drawing
your file directories ever again! Like our popular ConfMenu utility,
FileMenu will display your directory descriptions automatically when
you have descriptions in your DIR.LST that is.
FileMenu will let you group directories in sub-groups, and is perfect
for those will multiple CD-Roms online!
And best of all, FileMenu is a snap to install! Also, I am the author
of several great PPE programs so support for all of them is strong...
Use FileMenu as a F command replacement and offer your users the very
best way to breeze through all your file directories on your BBS.
Nothing Beats FileMenu!
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ Installation FileMenu │
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Installation of FileMenu is really very simple. FileMenu should be
installed by placing the following line (as the only line) in the menu
you currently use as a file menu: (But use your own actual path).
!D:\PCB\FD\FILEMENU.PPE
If you called the file menu "DIR" in PCBSetup, the filename DIR must
have only the above single line. Also backup and remove the ANSI DIRG
file if you are using multiple files like DIR, DIRG, DIRR, etc.
That's the real simple installation... and now for some "just as east
configuration".
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ Config File (FILEMENU.CNF) FileMenu │
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
The FILEMENU.CNF file must be placed in the same dir as FILEMENU.PPE.
A Sample CNF file is explained below and MUST be called FILEMENU.CNF.
Line 1 BBS registered to ........ Your BBS Name
Line 2 Registration number ...... 00000
Line 3 Validation code .......... 00000
Line 4 DUPE or Blank ............ * (See Below)
Line 5 Y or N ................... N ** (See Below)
* If... and this is IMPORTANT... you use the same DIR.LST and file menus
for all your conferences, place the word "DUPE" without the quotes, on
line 4 of your FILEMENU.CNF file. This is because if you only have the
one table file (0.TBL) you don't want users in conference 20 running
this PPE and having it look for a non-existant 20.TBL. By placing DUPE
on line 4 of the CNF file, FILEMENU.PPE will ALWAYS look for 0.TBL re-
gardless of what conference the user is in at the time.
** On line 5, place a Y or N here. Y if you DO want the upload directory
to be displayed, or N if you DON'T want upload directory displayed.
See, the config file is real easy.
Last part of the configuration is the "directory table file"....
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ The FileMenu Table File (Table of file directories) FileMenu │
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
The FileMenu Table file must be placed in the same dir as FILEMENU.PPE
For your "main board file menu" the table file is to be called 0.TBL
where 0 is the current conference number the user is in.
Sample 0.TBL table file for use with Main Board File Directories
┌───────────────────┐
│ D:\PCB\DIR.LST │ Line 1 PCB DIR.LST for this group
│ D:\PPE\FD\MAINMNU │ Line 2 Menu Display for this table
│ │ Line 3 <Blank Line>
│ Night Owl 12 │ Line 4 Title of 1st dir group
│ 1 │ Line 5 Low Dir # of this group
│ 59 │ Line 6 High Dir # of this group
│ │ Line 7 <Blank Line>
│ Night Owl 13 │ Line 8 Title of 2nd dir group
│ 60 │ Line 9 Low Dir # of this group
│ 121 │ Line 10 High Dir # of this group
│ │ Line 11 <Blank Line>
└───────────────────┘
(and so on for unlimited file directory groups!)
Line 1 is the DIR.LST file that contains the paths and dir descriptions,
and it must be the same as the one for the current conference and it's
file menu ( containing only: !D:\PCB\FD\FILEMENU.PPE )
Line 2 is the menu display for this table file. It should contain as
many choices as you have in the table file.
The blank lines are really there only to make the file easier to view
and/or edit.
* To use different FileMenu tables for different conferences, you only *
* need to have a table file for that desired conference with the number *
* of the conference as the filename and .TBL as the extension. In other *
* words, for my SysOps conference (conf 20) I have a table file called *
* 20.TBL that points to a different DIR.LST and points to a different *
* menu. It's that easy and flexible! *
We've included sample CNF and Table Files for you to use as examples.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a comment on my board
or in the Intelec Network PPL_Language conference.
