Callers.EXE Documentation
V1.12ß - 04/09/92
Written by ZigZag [THG F/X]
Celerity Support Utility
Description: CALLERS.EXE is a very simple to use support utility for the
Celerity Bulletin Board System written by The Byter. This file is meant to
be run by a System Event. When run, CALLERS.EXE simply goes through your
callers log file and keeps the number of calls you entered at the command
line. For example:
CALLERS 5 <- This would keep the previous 5 callers in your log.
Setup: This is the EASY part. (Actually, there is no hard part.) Just
unzip your CALL113.ZIP to either your NODE directories or your \CELERITY
directory, depending on your system setup. (Multinodal or single node).
Edit your EVENT.BAT file and just add a line that says CALLERS and then the
number of callers you wish to keep in the log on the command line. Every
night, when your EVENT.BAT is run, it takes care of the calls from the
previous days, leaving a list of only those calls from that past 2 days.
04/01/92: MAJOR BUG FIXED!
Okay, so I fucked up. I didn't think about the month changing
and the date being negative. Sorry for the inconvience, I am perpetually
drunk or something. I fixed it, and there should be no more problems.
But PLEASE backup your a copy of your CALLERS. file. I don't want people
Pissed Off at me. Just back it up, and PLEASE report ANY problems with
the program to me. I really appreciate it. I can't foresee EVERYTHING
wrong with the program. Mostly I run around with my head up my ass...
04/09/92: Another Bug Fixed!
After downloading The Bog's Caller listing, I found the program
pucked on the safety valve routine I put in. It works now. I tested this
thing so many times, I am sick of looking at it. I tested it through
1993 so the YEAR should effect it. (God, is this stupid or what!?)
06/01/92: Another fuckin' Bug destroyed!
I saved us all a lot of time. I deleted all of the date routines
in the program, and decided to go with Command Line input. This was easier
than I had ever thought. Let's just say that since you people didn't give
me feedback on the damn program, you all deserve to have a 4.5 meg file in
your Celerity directory.
I also included a little utility I used to test this puppy out.
It is called VCALLOG.EXE. Standing for View Caller's Log. This just whips
out the records in the current CALLERS. file and tells you the number of
records in it. Don't know why you would need this, but I thought it wouldn't
hurt to release that in there.
The Author is NOT responsible for lost or damaged data. Any lost
or damaged data is the users responsiblity. In otherwords, don't even try
and sue me for deleting your CALLERS log. Although I don't see how it would,
I have tested this on my system several times.
If you have questions, suggestions or problems, get a hold of me
either through CelerityNET or The Projects. The number to The Projects is
posted on quality boards near you.
Personal Greets:
Since you actually typed or read this file, you have to put up with
my dumb ass greets, but these are necessary. People deserve a little credit.
Sicko - Blues Fest? It better happen! Thanks for the CALLERS log from
The Bog (312-225-9711). Great board, great SysOps (Howdy Lenon!)
Codo The Mysterious - Thanks for putting up with all my bullshit on
The Projects (317-578-1091). Let me put all my
stupid little utilities on his board and tests them
out.
Spark Plug - Putting up with my shit from the beginning at Liquid Acid..
ENOUGH BULLSHIT...
