  3. Information about the AAF PIPER J-3 Cub  
  4.  
  5. This is an update of the 1946 Piper J-3 Cub previously uploaded to the
  6. CIS:Flight Simulator Forum.  It incorporates a new REF-SIM with 
  7. improved visibility, better flight characteristics and the flaps and flap 
  8. sound, (if you are using the SGA upgrade), have been disabled. Additionally,
  9. the wheels have been improved and some dihedral added to the wings.

  11. Certainly a classic  aircraft, this AAF model is an effort to capture the 
  12. Piper J-3 Cub of 1946.  At least that it looks more like a J-3 than 
  13. anything I've seen to date.  I've retained the classic Piper Cub yellow 
  14. with the black stripe on the side of the fuselage.

  24. The source of inspiration and information was "The Piper Cub Story"
  25. by James M. Triggs, Modern Aircraft Series (Sports Car Press) 1963.

  62. Some liberties were taken with the horsepower of the reference SIM
  63. to improve the climb rate and cruise.  I have found that it cruises
  64. nicely at about 2000 RPM with 8 presses of the "7" key on the 
  65. numerical keypad ("Flypal" trim setting of -2048).
