  9. Since receiving my first version as a gift, I have become addicted to
  10. this game of Mahjongg.  Having registered my copy and receiving version
  11. 3.3, I have used Nels Anderson's alternate tile sets with much pleasure.
  12. While using the Flags of the World, I was reminded of how colorful a
  13. Naval vessel looked when the signal flags were being flown, especially in
  14. port.  Quite often, we would drape or hang some of these Signal Flags
  15. around the Hangar Deck of an Aircraft Carrier or an aircraft hangar
  16. ashore, to add color and a festive atmosphere to special functions or
  17. occasions.

  19. The use of World Flags for a tile set made me think of trying my hand at
  20. making another tile set, but this time using Navy Signal Flags.  As I
  21. thought about making a tile set using the Signal Flags, I decided to
  22. include on the tile not only the Signal Flag and Alpha/Numeric character,
  23. but also the International Morse Code character equivalent.

  25. There are only five colors used in making these flags; red, white, blue,
  26. yellow and black.  The various combinations not only make them colorful,
  27. but interesting.  Also, since there are 26 letters in the alphabet and 10
  28. numbers, it was fairly easy to substitute the Signal Flags directly into
  29. the tile pattern.

  31.          1.   Tiles 1 through 26 are the Alphabet flags
  32.          2.   Tiles 27 through 42 are the Number flags,
  33.               with the number 9 being tiles 35 through 38
  34.               and the number 0 being tiles 39 though 42.

  36. I made two tile sets using Signal Flags as the basis, and am not sure
  37. which set I like better.

  39.      SIGFLAG1.TIL was made using a grey background, but with different
  40.      side colors to denote consonants, vowels, and numbers.

  42.      SIGFLAG2.TIL was made using different background colors:
  43.          1.  Grey for Consonants
  44.          2.  Cyan for Vowels
  45.          3.  Brown for Numbers
