  3. News of the rebellion on Animal Farm spreads around the
  4. country and stirs up unrest especially amongst the animals on
  5. the neighbouring farms of Foxwood and Pinchfield.
  6. Jones and his men with the help of the neighbouring farmers
  7. attempt to seize back the farm but a masterly plan devised by
  8. Snowball sees victory for the animals at 'The Battle of the
  9. Cowshed.
  10.     
  11. Winter sees the desertion of Mollie one of the horses who
  12. rejoins human company.
  13. Times are hard for the animals and things are not helped by
  14. bitter quarrels between the two leaders Snowball and Napoleon.

  16. Snowball has rather grand plans for the farm including one for
  17. a windmill to generate electricity.
  18. Napoleon is opposed to the idea and just when Snowball gains
  19. approval from the other animals Napoleon drives him out of the
  20. farm with the assistance of nine fierce dogs that he has
  21. trained.

  23. Squealer justifies Snowball's exile playing down Snowball's
  24. role in the rebellion.

  26. Later the other animals are surprised to learn that Napoleon
  27. had favoured the building of the windmill all along.

  29. The animals work hard to accomplish their normal farmwork and
  30. the added task of building the windmill.
  31. No-one works harder than Boxer.
  32. The pigs announce the necessity of engaging in trade with
  33. neighbouring farms to the uneasiness of the animals.
  34.     
  35. At this time also the pigs move into the farmhouse and
  36. although the others think it may be breaking the commandments
  37. they are shown that it is just their memory at fault.

  39. Fine progress has been made on the windmill but on a night of
  40. terrible storms tragedy occurred.
  41. The windmill is destroyed.!

  43. Devastated by the destruction of all their work the animals
  44. are even more shocked when Napoleon detects that it was the
  45. evil Snowball who was responsible for the downfall of the
  46. windmill.

  48. However they are determined to begin anew their ambitious
  49. task and they begin work on rebuilding the windmill.
