  2. Screen Information:

  4. This screen is divided into three windows,
  5.  
  6.         1. The Select Window
  7.  
  8.              . Use this window to select a
  9.                specific field for editing
  10.  
  11.         2. The Edit Window
  12.  
  13.              . The field selected for edit
  14.                will be shown here
  15.  
  16.              . You may edit this field by
  17.                keying information into the
  18.                field
  19.  
  20.              . Edit control keys are,
  21.                   .. Tab (right)
  22.                   .. Right Arrow
  23.                   .. Left Arrow
  24.                   .. Delete
  25.                   .. Backspace
  26.                   .. End (will erase from cursor
  27.                           to end of field)

  29.         3. The Display Window
  30.  
  31.              . Displays the current value of each
  32.                field in the data base record
  33.  
  34. Use this screen for recording the basic info-
  35. mation of a participant plus transferring data
  36. from prior logs or records. Required fields when
  37. adding a participant to the database are First and
  38. Last Name, Sex, and Height. All other fields are
  39. optional. Once a participant is in the data base
  40. all time and distance fields will automatically be
  41. updated as you record individual events.

  43. To select a field for editing move the pointer to
  44. the field name using the Up or Down Arrow keys
  45. then press the Enter key. The current value of the
  46. field will be shown in the edit window. You can
  47. now edit the value of this field. Pressing the
  48. Enter key will clear the field from the edit
  49. window and update the value of the field as
  50. displayed in the display window. Pressing the Esc
  51. key will clear the field from the edit window
  52. without updating the value of the field.

  54. Two screens are needed to display all the fields
  55. in a data base record. These screens are Page 1
  56. and Page 2. The current page number is shown at
  57. the top of the display window. Use the Page Up and
  58. Page Down keys to move between the pages.
  59.  
  60. The select window also contains the two Action
  61. Buttons.  These buttons allow you to complete the
  62. action (Add,Change,Delete) or to cancel the action
  63. and return to the previous menu. Each press of the
  64. Ctrl and Right Arrow keys at the same time will
  65. activate the Action Buttons in succession.
  66. Pressing the Enter key will complete the action
  67. you have selected.

  69. Add Information:
  70. When you are adding a participant to the data base
  71. the selection window has an automatic advance
  72. feature. Each press of the Enter key will auto-
  73. matically display the next field in the edit
  74. window allowing you to edit this field. Pressing
  75. the Esc key will break out of the auto advance
  76. allowing you to select a field manually. After
  77. manual selection the auto advance will be reen-
  78. abled from this point. The auto advance is
  79. restricted to each page of the display. To change
  80. pages requires pressing the Page Up or Page Down
  81. key.

  83. Change Information:
  84. You may change any field in the displayed data
  85. base record by manually selecting the field for
  86. editing. You cannot blank the First Name, Last
  87. Name, Sex, or Height fields since they are
  88. required for every data base record.

  90. Delete Information:
  91. The delete function does not allow any field
  92. editing. The first page of the record selected for
  93. deletion is displayed for verification purposes.
  94. The record will not be deleted until you select
  95. the Delete Button and then press the Enter key.
