General Instructions
WARNING! When you initially open a database using the Household
Inventory, the program allocates approximately 20,000 characters
of disk space to be used for writing the index. This ensures
that you will always be able to save your data even though the
diskette becomes full. Consequently, if you receive this program
on a public domain distribution diskette, there may be
insufficient disk space for the program to execute. In this
event, copy the HouseInv directory to its own diskette before
attempting to use the program.
The Household Inventory Manager provides a convenient method for
recording and keeping track of your valuable household property.
In the event of disaster, it is extremely important that you have
accurate records relating to your property in order to get a
prompt and equitable insurance settlement. The Household
Inventory Manager will handle this task with ease.
The following information is stored in the database:
Article
Description
Serial No.
Condition
Location
Category
Purchase Date
Original Cost
Insured Value
Remarks
Options are available to add new entries, or to delete, change or
view existing entries. Further, you may search the database for
the occurrence of any specified key word or phrase.
A general purpose query program is provided to allow you to
produce customized reports based on your selection criteria and
formatting specifications.
The Household Inventory Manager databases will accommodate
approximately 1,000 entries. However, the number of databases is
limited only by the available disk space. The core memory
requirement is 512K.
Be sure to backup you database often!!
