*** The Game of Go ***
************************
This program allows two people to play go and record
the game on disk.
The object of this games is to claim territory by surrounding
it with your stones. Stones are removed from the board when
all adjacent (but not necessarily diagonally adjacent)
positions are occupied by the opponent. One point is
awarded for each point of territory and for each captured
stone.
Some of the not so obvious features of the program are
described below.
The previous move can be removed by clicking the
stone, and also by clicking the dragon's paw. The
proportional gadget below the board can be dragged to
position to any part of the game. If the game has not
been "Remember"ed then moves will be forgotten when moving
back.
Menu Option: Two Mice
Use this option only when two mice are available.
Menu Option: Remember
The program will remember all the moves made for the game up
to the board position shown on the screen. Only one game
can be remembered at any one time. When a game has been
"Remember"ed, it is possible to show the next move by
clicking the dragon's head.
Menu Option: Count
Click any position in a territory to count the points for
that territory and to collect captured stones. The color
of the pointer can be changed by clicking the dragon head or
paw, or by clicking on a territory already counted.
Menu Option: Save
The game up to the position shown on the screen is saved
to disk. Only the first one hundred files of a directory
are displayed with the Save and Load gadget. The
default directory for game records is called "GoGames"
and will be looked for in the same directory as the Go
program.
The IFF picture called "dragon" must be in the same directory as
the Go program.
