- The teapot of computer graphics fame February 1988
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- The accompanying picture of Martin Newell's teapot was created using
- Sculpt-3D and data obtained from the January 1987 IEEE Computer Graphics &
- Applications article, "The Origins of the Teapot". The teapot is a very
- good test object because it has both positive/negative surface curvatures,
- intersecting surfaces (handle and spout) and even a saddle shape surface
- (neck of the knob).
-
- The teapot consists of 2256 triangles. The 320x400 HAM picture required
- approximately 36 hours to generate using Photo mode and best antialiasing.
- Also, a 65% dithering amount was chosen, as allowed by Scuplt-3D V1.102,
- to reduce the fuzziness.
-
- Enjoy!
