The teapot of computer graphics fame February 1988 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The accompanying picture of Martin Newell's teapot was created using Sculpt-3D and data obtained from the January 1987 IEEE Computer Graphics & Applications article, "The Origins of the Teapot". The teapot is a very good test object because it has both positive/negative surface curvatures, intersecting surfaces (handle and spout) and even a saddle shape surface (neck of the knob). The teapot consists of 2256 triangles. The 320x400 HAM picture required approximately 36 hours to generate using Photo mode and best antialiasing. Also, a 65% dithering amount was chosen, as allowed by Scuplt-3D V1.102, to reduce the fuzziness. Enjoy! Nick Rapallo 102 Sandy's Drive Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada L4L 3E3
