GENERAL, NO-FRILLS DESCRIPTION:
-------------------------------
Select is a program.
SLIGHTLY MORE SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION:
-----------------------------------
Select is a program that you WILL make a part of your startup-sequence.
It allows you to choose from 1 to 15 different startup sequences with the
simple, no-brain click of a mouse button. Please note that you MUST have,
in the current C directory, the command 'Execute,' spelled EXACTLY as shown
here. If you don't, things will get VERY ugly.
Select refuses to load & run some commands properly. I think this is
because of those ->AWFUL<- BPTRs. Maybe you can fix it. Otherwise, select
seems to answer the prayers of anyone with more than one (1) startup
sequence.
GENERAL, NO-FRILLS OPERATION:
-----------------------------
Type "Select {file_1} [ {file_2} ... {file_15} ]"
SOMEWHAT USEFUL OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS:
---------------------------------------
For example:
Select WorkBench RamDisk Modula-2 NotePad
Where Workbench, RamDisk, Modula-2, and NotePad are the names of batch
files. (i.e. Those executed with CLI's EXECUTE command, like
s/startup-sequence)
HORRIBLY COMPLEX AND GENERALLY COMPLICATED OPERATION:
-----------------------------------------------------
You may, how you computer people say?, 'recursively' use Select in a
file that is called by Select. It is recommended that you put the Select
command in your startup-sequence, with all subordinate startup sequences
in the 's' directory. Use filenames of less than 25 characters or it
WON'T WORK, and will hate you for the rest of the current clock cycle.
Note: ANY 'EXECUTE'able file that is placed in the 's' directory will
be immediately accessible just by typing 'EXECUTE {filename}'
FINALLY!
--------
'Dneishe' is a perversion of 'Nice,' but must be meticulously pronounced
with the teeth clenched and a manical grin. Be sure to include the
drawn-out ssshhhhzzz and the end. Practice it, perfect it.
