This is the title-page of a prayer book in the Montagnais Indian language, printed at QuÄbec by Gilmore and Brown for the Jesuit missionaries. Printing and design were of a very high standard, and the title shows an excellent use of "fleurons", individually cast printers' ornaments made into patterns or borders.
