  3.      By the last year of the war, radicalism was again on the march and militancy rife among Canadian workers, These miners proclaim their solidarity in English and Ukrainian. The language was banned in August, 1918 by federal order-in-council because of its use by alleged pro-German, pacifist, or revolutionary groups.
