A small fishing room still used in 1975. This type of small operation - a family of two to four people - is very rare today. The building on the left which extends out over the water's edge is the stage where the boat is tied when not in use and where the fish are cleaned, split, salted and stored. Because there are few trees for building flakes on which to dry the fish, the nearby rocky surface - the "bawn" - is used for this purpose.
