This reproduction of a post-card gives a "bird's-eye view" of Winnipeg. It shows the city stretching far off into the distance, indicating that Winnipeg was by this time a major urban centre. It also indicates that the city's tree planting program, begun in 1896 in a limited way, was fairly successful. By 1905 the city's Parks Board reported that it had planted 12,072 trees.
