These items of crockery, glassware and cutlery were found in the excavation of two of the houses (Estebe and Picard) at Place Royale. They are all of eighteenth century origin and would have been imported from abroad. The simple blue and white plate with the single band decorating the inner circumference was particularly common and found in great abundance. The more elaborate polychromatic dishes were possibly kept for more formal occasions. As you can see these items have been reassembled from many fragments - the painstaking work of highly trained specialists.
