  11.  This suite of programs uses Powerbase, and expects to find student
  12.  records in a database similar to !Blank, with a name of the form
  13.  !Year#, where # is an alphanumeric character.  The programs !ALevel,
  14.  !Appoint, !Attend, !Block and !Exam are provided "as is"; it is up to
  15.  the user to adapt them to his own college.  However, the programmers
  16.  welcome feedback from registered users of Powerbase.  These programs
  17.  are shareware, although at present registration is free. You are allowed
  18.  to copy these programs freely as long as you do not do so for any profit,
  19.  and that the suite is kept intact and unchanged.

  21.  If you have Powerbase running and !Blank loaded, double click on !ALevel
  22.  and enter the name of the database (change !Year2 to the appropriate name).
  23.  Press <RETURN> twice or click on <GO>.

  25.  Double click on !Appoint to run it and drag the database icon from the
  26.  filer window to the Appoint icon on the icon bar.  The date and venue
  27.  of the evening are writable icons; the information is stored in the
  28.  configuration file.  Students are given slips to take home. Their
  29.  parents state which tutors they wish to see, and the earliest and
  30.  latest times they can attend.  This information is entered into Appoint
  31.  by hand before a timetable is requested.

  33.  Double click on !Attend to run it and drag the database icon from the
  34.  filer window to the Attend icon on the icon bar.  Click on "list
  35.  codes" for a list of classes.  The "week beginning" is stored in the
  36.  configuration file and can be reset by clicking on the "bump" icons. 
  37.  The other information comes from !Blank.

  39.  Double click on !Block to run it and drag the database icon from the
  40.  filer window to the Block icon on the icon bar.  Choose the number of
  41.  blocks (it is set to work with 7) and let it produce a list of who is
  42.  where when.

  44.  Double click on !Exam to run it and drag the database icon from the
  45.  filer window to the Exam icon on the icon bar.  Click on "list codes"
  46.  for a list of classes.

  77.  are using and give as much information as possible about how and under
  78.  what circumstances the program misbehaves. Additional example
  79.  databases will be sent on request; just send a disc and tell us which
  80.  ones you already have.

  90.  All recent versions of Powerbase require the following modules:
  91.                Interface (v.2.00 or later)
  92.                ImpulseII (v.0.17 or later)
  93.                SlidingHp (v.2.00 or later)
  94.  The modules are supplied in the Modules folder inside the !System
  95.  application on the Powerbase disc and should be copied to the
  96.  corresponding folder in your own !System application.
